L C Bird, (and Henrico, I think), at Dinwiddie on the 19th.

Does HSHS have a game for 00 week? Did you start practice a week earlier than everyone else. 8-6 is only two days after pads are permitted I think.

No sir. Just two scrimmages. I do not think they have ever been involved in a benifit game. I hope you will try to slip down on the 19th for the Bird scrimmage?
My ole lady is trying to get me to go back to Danville for a wedding that night so I'll probably check the GW/Dan River benefit game out. Hoos and I are 99.9% sure that we're coming to Hanover on the 3rd tho! I'll more than likely be at the Dale/HS benefit game on the 11th! Want to get to the JM/Dinwiddie game on the 26th but we're going to the beach :( but unless something drastic happens, I'll see you and Bleeding at Hanover!

We play #5 Norview the following Friday, Sept. 2 @ HSHS, then MBK. Then a bye week, game 4 is Hanover....

HS vs N. Stafford started at 9:30 am today. N. Stafford will make some noise this year. They fought HS tough, but it was HS the whole way. NS had trouble moving the ball against HS's defense, but they did connect on 2 long pass plays. One set them up for a td in the first half of the controlled scrimmage. Both teams started with (I think) 2 series of 15 plays each. NS went first. HS bottled them up. On HS's first play on their possession, Chris Thaxton caught a short pass to the seam and raced 80 yds for a td.
NS. 2nd series, they moved the ball some and connected on 1 long pass play to about the 5 yd line. 3 plays later they scored.
HS's next possession they drove the field and score. Then there was a break. The second half was done sort of like game situation. Long story short. In this half, HS scored twice on long sustained drives. NS was pretty much unable to move the ball. Except on their last possession, they connected again on a long bomb! They got to about the 20, then fizzled on 4 downs and that was it! HS scored 4 td's to NS's 1 td.
JV: HS walloped NS scoring 7 td's to 0.
HS's passing game is strong! they did a lot of tweaking within the run game today.

I ended up having to miss the Hermitage/Green Run scrimmage. I was given conflicting finals of Hermitage 21-0 and Hermitage 14-0.

Just in case anyone is interested! Hermitage scrimmages Hanover tonight, 6pm @ Hanover.

Bethel vs Landstown. Called at the start of the 2nd because of lightening Bethel 10 Landstown 0.

Hey springer76, It was 24-0 Hermitage! All scoring was first half starters on starters. Considering we graduated 18 starters from last years squad, I've been impressed with the team. I think we lose the opener to you guys ( I think HSHS wins the 5A title again, just my opinion), after that, I don't see us losing in the regular season but upsets happen! Good luck to you guys this season, biggest thing is I pray all the boys stay safe!

Ouch! They will miss him. Good hands and a tough kid. Goes over the middle without fear. I hope he is able to get back for at least part of his senior season.
