Sherando rallies to win first-ever home state playoff game, scoring two runs in the fifth to take the lead on John Bentley's two-run, two-out double (which was misjudged by the center fielder) and adding two more in the sixth when Culpeper fell apart with three errors.

Not trying to make excuses for Culpeper's defense, because Sherando had two fielding errors when the Blue Devils took the lead in the fifth. The Warriors also missed a ton of opps at the plate and had two runners thrown out at third in one inning and left the sacks full in another without scoring.

But, Sherando battled and got itself to a state semifinal appearance for the first time since 2004. Good job by Bentley (9-0) to go six plus before handing the ball over to Entsminger, who got the save.

Now comes a matchup with Amherst, which pulled off another last-at bat win. I expect another good game Friday. I would think Entsminger will get the call this time for the start. Congrats again for Bentley, and all the Sherando seniors, in winning their final home game.
