St. Michael the Archangel (4-2) at Northumberland (0-1) tonight

Great to have high school football back around here in the East!

St. Michael the Archangel out of Fredericksburg makes the trip to play at Northumberland tonight at 7 pm.

St. Michael is 4-2 and won their last two games by a combined score of 88-8. So obviously they must have a high powered offense and a stout D.

NHS lost at West Point 14-8 last week.

In my dream world SMA would have been playing for the D1 state title in 2019 against either Roanoke Catholic or Galax.

As it stands they had one heck of a championship game vs. Roanoke Catholic that season in VISAA.

Sorry RedPrideNation - I do not think that the football game will be live streamed either on the NFHS network or Facebook. I am sure that clips will be on YouTube later.

St. Michael 6 Northumberland 0 at the half

Great game so far. NHS Star Cameron Seldon took an explosive kickoff return to the house. Yet it was brought back due to unsportsmanlike penalty.

2nd q ended with NHS earning a 1st down around the 10 yard line after a good drive but time ran out.

Wow- NHS scores on short pass that turned into a 70 yard TD beauty. Late flag it seemed brought back the TD. Then a few more penalties and the center hikes the Ball over the punter for a SM safety.

St. M up 8-6.
