Attended this one tonight as a neutral observer and saw a better game than I expected. I went expecting the Draft to win by 3-4 scores but at times Waynesboro outplayed the Cougars and SD won the game by returning two kickoffs for TDs in the second half. Those were their only scores of the second half.

The Little Giants had a very athletic dual-threat quarterback who eluded the Cougars on a number of occasions but many fans in the visiting stands felt as if he tried to do too much on his own and that it may have ultimately hurt their chances. Also they have a bull of a fullback in number 8 who barreled right over defenders on more than one occasion.

Although the Cougars are in my district, I did not recognize too many of their players, so maybe it would be best if I let Gunz or someone else come on here and fill you in on them. Overall a very entertaining game in which Waynesboro actually led 23-20 early in the fourth quarter before giving up that second kickoff return.

Next week the Giants host Wilson and SD travels to Fort Defiance.

Lots and lots of young kids.

A name from the past that a few may remember his son was starting as a 9th grader last night. Aaron Nice is son of Spencer Nice who was a VERY good ball player and a big reason Brock Johnson had the yards he did.

But sadly there are a bunch who are not playing from last season, and kids who were top players

I remember Spencer and maybe some other members of the Nice family. From what I recall, they live up to their name as well as being quality athletes.

Sure did. I dont know how the young Cubs will do this year, but future looks bright.

With those kids who decided not to play, they may have been pretty dangerous

Also from what I saw, the only reason Waynesboro was in the game was the QB and the big back. So I think their complaints are off.

If not for the QBs athleticism, 1 TD would for sure not been scored on the broken play.

Both teams made their mistakes with penalties that hurt them.

And since I like you longtime, tell your buddy X that there was another clock issue last night, this time against SD, which possibly cost the team some points. End of 1st half on consecutive plays the refs let about 4 sec each run off. And no complaining here :)
