Sophomore Cade Looney collected 28 points and 18 rebounds as the Grundy Golden Wave trumped Tazewell.
Hamilton Campbell (21 points, eight assists), Corey Keene (11 points) and Jake McCoy (six points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, five steals) also played well in the win. Grundy led 40-21 at halftime.
A 12 point performance by Jamir Blevins was tops for Tazewell.
Girls:
Lebanon 83, (1A) Northwood 23
Averie Price led five Lebanon scorers in double figures with an 18 point effort as the Pioneers cruised to a non district win.
Alyssa Padilla notched a double double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Pioneers, who also got 16 points from Morgan Hamm, 11 points from Kara Long and 10 points from Tatum Dye.
Magan Frye scored 12 points to lead Northwood, but the Panthers faced a 29-2 deficit after the first quarter.
Gate City 67, Sullivan East, Tennessee 57
Sarah Thompson's 23 point performance lifted Gate City to a triumph over the Patriots.
Jaden Fullen added 14 points for the Blue Devils (2-0), who built a 15 point lead through three quarters.
Freshman Riley Nelson led Sullivan East (4-5) with 18 points and the Patriots also got double figure scoring efforts from Hayley Grubb (15 points) and Kylee Wolfe (12 points).
