Softball:
Sullivan East (TN) 3, Lebanon 2
A mighty swing of the bat from Kylee Wolfe kept the spotless record intact for Sullivan East High School's softball squad.
Wolfe's two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 lead and that ended up being the final score as the Patriots powered their way to a victory over the Lebanon Pioneers on Wednesday.
Wolfe finished with two hits and drove in all three of her team's runs. East (3-0) also received two hits from Katelyne Loudy.
Morgan Hamm had two hits and drove in a run for Lebanon, which was playing its season opener. The Pioneers scored twice in the first inning, but were held scoreless over the final six innings by East pitcher Jillian Shackleford.
Baseball:
Ridgeview 5, (1A) J. I. Burton 2
McKenzie Sproles struck out 12 in pitching a five hitter as the Ridgeview Wolfpack recorded a non district win over J. I. Burton.
Mason Jones had two hits for Ridgeview, which benefitted from three Burton errors.
J. I. Burton pitcher Derrick Allen struck out 10 over five innings of work.
