Last night's game started out on an interesting note. Most teams have elected to leave their team off the field during the now viral Tiger's Cage Field entrance ceremony / presentation. But, Tallwood elected to come on field & gather at the 30 yard line and watch the show! It seemed strange somehow. I wasn't sure if they were admiring the Tiger's, intimaded or what? But just as the Tiger's were heading towards their sidelines, their Flag Bearer ran up to the Huge "S" field logo and drove it into the field!.

Smith seemed to ignore the act which also seemed unusual to me. Then the first quarter proceeded with 3 consecutive short drives by both teams and I thought Talwood was moving the ball too easily for what we expected. Likewise none of us expected Smith to be punting so often so early.

What could have been going on? But as I perused the sidelines, I began to notice that 2/3 of the OL & DL and a few other top starters were standing along the sidelines with their helmets off. As I enquired about this with some of the player's parents sitting around me, it seems like a little bit of discipline was being handed out by the coach.

Not sure what the issue was but the coaches message must have hit home. Just before the end of the 1st quarter, Tallwood got quite the surprise when suddenly there first downs turned into 3 consecutive downs with tackles for losses. Smith began swiftly marching down the field very quickly. In fact the first play with all of the starters on the field, a 60 yd run for TD which was called back which should have given the Lions foreshadowing for the remainder of the game.

In the last 2 1/2 minutes of the Quarter, Smith scored twice. In the second quarter, the Tigers scored another 28 points. A Running clock began in the second half with the #2's back in for the 4th quarter and the game ending 49-0.

After the game, with Twitter posts, it appears the Smith players did take offense to the pregame placement of Tallwood's Flag into the Smith field logo. They never really showed it on the field. It looks like the coaches have control over letting the kids getting distracted.
