Thanks refs for giving the haysi tigers a win

Those Refs down there are the biggest Homers I've ever seen. A bad call happens in every game. But these guys always call it one way. When coaches see bad call they should decline them. That's the only thing that will put a stop to it. In Basketball Cormany fusses at the refs when they call certain fouls on the other team, because its BS as well as cheating. It also helps set the stage for these young men that its ok to lie and cheat.

If its the targeting penalty at the end that was no BS call. I was in clear sight of the play and the call was right. 2 refs from different vantage points dont throw flags on the same penalty and be wrong about it.

135 yards to 30. I watched it on nfhs network. Ill buy the targeting. sooo many others though I do not

Radcats... you have officially became laughable!! I wasnt at the Haysi game but you started your whining last week when Radfird lost. So move on to basketball ... I think you guys will be right at the top. I also do not think alot of you folks in the NRV and beyond respect the discipline teams down here play with for the most part... something some of the teams up that way could definitely learn from.

I've noticed whenever its a close game the losing side always blames the refs. No teams in particular but most teams in general. Its just how it tends to be

Call it what you want whoopy. Ill call it as I see it. The thing is, us NRV people are not used to seeing is bias refs. It is what it is. And being a fan of the game. ill watch any game I damn well please.

Who said anything about you not watching a game? Come on down! We will welcome ya back!! Im anxious to see Thornhill and the Colonels ... gon a be a tough one!! I have a good optometrist if you would like to schedule an appointment while you are down this way!

Shush

Zip it. You lost and that is the story of the NRV when they lose in the southwest. An excuse. You lost because your kids did NOT have enough emotional intelligence or control. Simply put, the inability to control the emotion. No impulse control. Hence....the targeting penalty. Controlling emotions and discipline, impulse control are huge parts of ANY football game. Mental toughness and emotional IQ are huge. Haysi had that edge on this given day.

I don't post for whoopys approval I guarantee you that.I rarely ever say anything about refs. Radfords had plenty of loses, go back and look, congrats to the other team. But like I said I call it as I see it. And I said the targeting call was legit. I gotta tell you, I don't believe Id trust the guy Whoopy.

Post away Radcats! You have your opinions and I respect them (well .. some of them) but there is a difference in having and posting opinions and jus whining to try to prove your excuses for why you lost! Anyway! I will agree to disagree on the SWVA refs thing... I have watched ballgames all over the state and complaining about he refs is a part of every game everywhere!!

I guess the 4 or 5 delay of game calls were the refs fault too. It was a close game and Haysi won on a gutsy play that most coaches wouldn't have had the nerve to call.it was a great game and can't take anything from Galax they were a great team. They are a extremely physically tough team.

I respect yours as well. Nothing I've said has anything to do with any team, players or coaches. You guys have a great team, there were some bad calls in the Radford game. Maybe you didn't read everything I posted, But I said no matter the refs Radford should have scored instead of a field goal. Good teams overcome bad calls. It just so happens that was the worst officiating Id seen in a while, again the better team won. Good luck this week, It'll be hard fought, I do believe Honaker pulls it out in the end. I went to Altavista last night and watched them defeat PM. I think Honaker Run/Pass, along with line play will be the difference. Altavista is fast, but not near as physical , their line gets down field fast to block. But I saw some good stunts by Honaker's D-Line last week that may help. I m going, Honaker 24-21 .

Cormany is one heck of a basketball coach but he gets away with bloody murder when it comes to officials. I've seen him dog cuss officials in his gym and nothing and another coach tries to ask a question to an official and gets "teed" up a few minutes later in the same game.

As a Galax fan I didn't agree with some of the calls today, but you have to over come them bow your back and keep the other team from scoring. Galax didn't do that and Haysi put the ball in the end zone when they had to. Congrats to Haysi and good luck next week.

I haven't seen or heard of any ref calling targeting all year long. The head is the tallest part of your body and if you see what you hit. How can you not lead with your head. IT'S FOOTBALL. PLAY IT OR NOT. Football is a gladiator sport.

If that was targeting then a stiff arm to the face mask by a Offensive player should be called also.

Re: I don't care about doing your best just get the damned calls right nm

I'm sure the associations would gladly accept more and better help. Maybe more people should go and sign up to become an official, and from what I hear every week there are many who should be able to make officiating perfect.

I don't understand the complaining about the refs. They are VHSL appointed from a very wide geographic area. The call at the end with 2.45 left in the 4th was an obvious unsportsmanlike call, any person at the game will tell you that. To win the game Haysi had to go another 60 yards then get a 2 pt conversion.

Again the game boiled down to Galax couldn't do anything but run Dixon. And he ran it great for sure just like Peoples last year, some of the players said he was not hardly as fast as Peoples but two times harder to bring down.

The farther you go in the playoffs being one dimensional really hurts. Also I don't think Galax accounted for the speed Haysi had at WR. #3 for Haysi out ran and out juked Galax's secondary a couple of times.

Galax didn't underestimate the speed at wide receiver, they haven't covered well all year. I watched practice last week and they were talking about the speed of Haysi's receivers so no they didn't overlook it. Our secondary hasn't been up to par all year and they actually done better than I thought they would. It's not like their receivers went 60 to 80 yards every time they caught the ball. And for comparing Peoples and Dixon the field was not quite the mud hole it was last year(even know it was still muddy this year) and the players had better footing so that would make a difference in how hard it was to bring a player down. And just so you know Dixon is actually faster than Peoples. Both were great backs and done certain things better than the other. It was a privilege to watch both of these backs and I truly enjoyed watching them throughout their careers.

And for the targeting call, no not everybody at the game would agree with it. From where I was standing it just look like a hard hit but if I watched the film I could have a different opinion. If the call had been turned around and been against a Haysi player the fans from Haysi would be raising cane and the fans of Galax would be saying it was a good call. That's just the way it is!

I don't think there is actually a rule in high school where a player is ejected for a targetting call is there?

I thought in high school it was just supposed to be a 15 yarder and that's it. The player was ejected by the refs. And that made a big difference losing a senior starting safety on the final drive if that's the case.

Can anyone look that up on vhsl handbook?
