The next test for HSHS is upon us…..

I cant rank Christian above Pootie yer not until he has delivered some state championships. I don't really care about the d1 offers, it's all about winning the games that count and Pootie did that twice. I believe Christian will bring us a chip the next 2 years but until he does i can't put him up there with Pootie. Don't forget Pootie nearly had 3 chips if it wasn't for a bad officiating call in the lc bird game late in the 4th quarter against kvon Wallace in 2014. That team was even more loaded than the 2015 team. The 2014 team had felton davis Kansas city chiefs wr, greg dortch Arizona cardinals wr, kvon Wallace Philly eagles safety, and mekhi Becton lt NY jets.
if you ever have a conversation with coach j, he would tell that if pootie had at least .5secs more time to throw the ball, Riverheads wouldn’t have been the first football team in VHSL history to have a 5peat

RH is gonna win #5 THIS SEASON. They only have 4 in a row along with Phoebus,Hampton, and HSHS.

There roster size is as big as C4 teams. In the semi finals 2 seasons ago they played West Point who ha 22 players when Riverheads had like 70
I read on the D1 board, their fans are mad they have to move up to D2. SMH

Some are but mostly because their other sports will not be as competitive. The past probably three years I think they could have competed at the state level in D2 and D3. However, I have seen them win a state championship with a team that I think could not come close to winning at D2 much less D3 several years ago. They always have a lot of players but their size and talent comes and goes.

The first Chambers TD was a gift from HS's error hiking the ball! Let's mention Manchester HS. Last year, Manchester came within a hair of beating HSHS, HS won it 27-20. This year's matchup with (always strong) Manchester, HS manhandled them 2 weeks ago. The score was 41-7 at halftime and
played the 2nd and 3rd stringers the 2nd half. HS won the game 48-7. Not that it matters with Martinsburg, it's just to show a difference from last year vs this year. Big difference. You'll see Friday.
I agree with you that the Springers are better but Manchester did have a lot of transfers and I believe they were overhyped this year. With that being said, the only team in Henrico, Hanover or Chesterfield who would not get beat by the Springers by at least 4 TDs is Varina.

The Manchester QB is gonna be special. He’s already quite poised. He’s a freshman transfer from Texas. They lost their stud WR,but 4🌟TE/DE Byerson has filled that spot nicely. I’m not sure what other transfers they had,but I know they replaced some OLineman. They will be a contender at the end of the year, but as you said….HSHS is a buzzsaw, and opening with them, really made them look bad. VaPreps didn’t have them in their D6 state Top 10. So,they’re not really overhyped IMO. Maybe by name & previous reputation.

I should’ve said they had some transfer out. A 4 star to Varina and like 5 players to LCA including their 2nd best WR and 3 year starter at QB.

That would be a kick in the bread basket for any program. I’m not sure why the mass departure, because the program has a solid history. I do think they will be a good football team by the end of the year though.

From the Richmond Times-Dispatch:

Two of the top-ranked teams across all classifications in their respective states lock horns in a marquee Virginia-West Virginia showdown that represents a push by the Springers and coach Loren Johnson to build upon their dominance in the commonwealth to establish a brand recognized nationwide. Martinsburg won a nail-bitter, 26-25, at Victor W. Kreiter Stadium last season. We think junior QB Khristian Martin, senior back Aziz Foster-Powell, senior DB and Virginia Tech recruit Braylon Johnson, senior D-end and Virginia recruit Miles Greene and senior receiver and VT commit Takye Heath lead a Springers outfit that's even better in 2022. MaxPreps listed this matchup as a Top 10 high school football game nationwide for this week, and ranks Martinsburg as the top team in West Virginia, with Highland Springs No. 2 in Virginia behind only Chesapeake power Oscar Smith.
Zach: Highland Springs 42-28 Tim:Highland Springs 35-31

I’d rank Manchester behind HS, Varina and Dale. Freeman and Herm are probably in the same boat as Manchester. I wasn’t drinking the Herm kool aid after they totally abandoned the scheme Bedwell was running (and it was working)with the same personnel and installed this pee wee offense they have going on. As you stated earlier, them and HS are very close in talent but that offensive scheme they run is painful to watch. Think HS held them in the negatives in rushing last November which is crazy for a team with that much talent.

What does Salem or Chambers have to do with Martinsburg??? Let me answer…Absolutely Nothing!!! All I know is Murphy ran away from all those D1 prospects at your place. As for watching HSHS yes I watched the Chambers to get a gage of HSHS. FYSA… My cousin is the Head Coach at N. Mecklenburg HS who happen to be in the same conference as Chambers and stated that this Chambers team is not as good as last seasons Chambers Team and he would definitely know this better than both you and I.So HSHS winning was not a surprise. So please believe the Dogs are going to bring it just as HSHS will bring it. Like I stated previously it is going to be a good game.
What does your cousin think about Hough? 😂
