Kudos to the Franklin Broncos , unofficially things are in your hands with scheduling of 2a and 3a teams you control your destiny. The only programs I know that can compete at the Armory is Sussex ( Not Ready This Year) and Riverheads. The hype from the NND was it just noise ? Plenty of football to be played so we will see.

I would love to see Essex get a rematch what tremendous atmosphere that would be in Peanut Country.

Not disputing you but curious how many points you figure they will end up with? I think it’s generally taken around 240-250 total to host (avg 24-25). Plus CB may have a say in that as well this week. I don’t know who they play but they need them to win too so they get the rider points.

CB plays Sussex this week. Should be interesting, I believe CB hasn't beat them in 5 years. But with Sussex having a "down" year this may be the year the losing streak snaps.

I thought CB has at Franklin this week.

I am not ready to hand Region A over to Franklin just yet. However, they have certainly joined the contender conversation.

Looks like top 8 Region A teams are Franklin, Essex, CB, W&L, Northumberland, West Point, Rapp, Sussex...

Who will be the final 4?

trutiger, yes Redpride Nation, brings up an important point.

I believe that you mean, the Road to the Region A title may go thru Bronco Country.

The winner of the Essex loss to Franklin may be Riverheads....as their odds of getting to host the state semis just improved (maybe).

Depends on records - and, of course, points....Riverheads plays more upper level teams who may also have more rider points.

Should be interesting how it plays out...long season.

Yes I do apologise, had my weeks mixed up. Franklin then Sussex. Two tough games back to back away.

For Franklin the two 3A and two 2A teams help a lot as long as they are 6-7 win teams. It never hurts to beat a 3A but if they only win one other game it does not help at all. Well other than the mindset/mentality that you can compete and beat a larger school. No disrespect intended as I don’t know the other schools well enough to speak to their level of play.

As for the Red Team, I see three big games and a sleeper that I hope we don’t overlook. As it was stated, there is a lot of football to be played and we won’t decided the winner on this board.

Some how every year it seems the Riverheads gets slighted in the points race, im betting it happens again this year, yes I truly believe the Broncos control ALL OF 1A , but The Big Red Machine and that rabid fan base can win anywhere.

I have always respected what the kids do on the field at Riverheads, I believe to be the man you must beat the man.
Same here man it’s just fun to have conversations about high school sports hell I respect all of the kids and coaches. Competition good for the soul

Check out YouTube video ! Riverheads Franklin . Do the Broncos look anything like they did in 2010 ?

Ya know, I am going to guess that neither team is the same since it happened 8 years ago.

All this is is a try to rile people up. The problem is, as @longtimerhsfan has pointed out (not being sarcastic) is none of Riverheads championships has the road to Salem ran through Greenville. The ENTIRE point that people were making is that hold their own destiny to play all the playoffs at home. Not one time did anyone say they were better than the Red Team.

Gunz my reply to the message didn’t have any thing to do with that just that I watched the video that I have not seen and I liked the video( down memory lane so speak) vested interest. The first thing you think of a post is negative.

And the 1st thing you think is that it was replied to you (which it wasn't). I didnt quote you, I didnt tag you. But there is a certain someone who hardly ever posts on here unless he is trying to stir the pot. And it isnt just one team. If you cant see how that post was designed specifically for that, then I cant help you.

And if you really want to know what I mean, just go back and look at his past posts. According to him, a RH fan, your coaches are terrible, he will come on and start arguments for nothing and come at you when they beat you, but not a word when they lose.

So in conclusion again, it wasnt about you

Good , that’s why I hate posting on these messages boards sometimes you read into what people write 3 different ways except the way it was intended

Back on topic a little, last night was a big hit to the points race for the Red team. Franklin indeed has the inside track to host the regional and semifinal round if they handle their business. Gonna keep an eye out to the east at this myself.

Yeah bringing up a game that happen eight years ago wasnt worthy of a response..teams change especially eight years worth..as the red team saw recently as their last game..and essex early in the season..but franklin is in hampton roads..the field here is one of the top football/soccer/baseball fields in virginia..unlike most schools fields, the broncos field is located in the heart of franklin..not on the school grounds

Broncos were one dimensional back in 2010 now they have a passing game and all around team speed on both sides of the .ball according to the 2a message board the red team couldn't handle east Rockingham speedy receivers and backs don't bite my head off but they going in on the red team on the 2a message board details from the games.

The RED TEAM would not have won the game with ER even if they were healthy ! They were better and played near perfect . The Gladiators have a lot of work to do . What does that say for the team eight miles down the road ?

Gunz41 thanks for backing me up on this one!

See, even when you try to have a decent post you cant help but try and take a jab. Of course nobody here said the team 8 miles down the road was better. They got beat, not the end of the world.

Those injuries happened end of 1st half and end of 3rd quarter, yea I was there on RH side. At the time of them it was 21-0.

But I guess what you were looking for is: Riverheads was better than Stuarts Draft.

How will Franklin fair in their district schedule? I'm assuming they have no trouble with the 3 1A teams but how do they compare to Park View, Southampton, Greensville, and Brunswick?
