The VABA Bruins won their third straight AAU tournament by defeating the UBE Elite 66-53 Sunday night. The Bruins were led by 6'4 forward Tom Mangrum (Western Albemarle) with 24 points. The Bruins outscored their opponents in the tournament 333-244 total in their 5 games, in which they went 5-0. The Bruins were also led by PG Charlie Weyher (Western Albemarle), SG Jake Bowling (Charlottesville), SF Isaiah Washington (Charlottesville) and 6'5 forward Garrett Payne (Western Albemarle). VABA is now 15-1 on the year and will head to the AAU State Tournament as the #1 seed in the state.
