I’ll have my crow with old bay and a lime squeeze please. Kudos to Varina, well done and major statement win. Did Huguenot just give up after falling behind, was it execution, or Varina horses just that much better?

Wasn’t focused. Varina was just head and shoulders better in the trenches. Varina will be a tough matchup for anyone. Front 7 is the best in C4.

@BoKnowsSports and @mbonape1, I will die on the sword with you, but youth and honestly, rec league coaching bit Huguenot in the arse. The Falcons have mad athletes, but it's tough to get over the hump in 4b. Got to coach your tail off. Two good hc's bumping heads tomorrow to earn the right to play one tough team in Varina. Hats off to the Blue Devils.

Huguenot lost that game after they went down 13-0, they had absolutely no fight. The sideline was so quiet the entire game, no enthusiasm whatsoever . Nobody was talking on the sideline or out on the field. It just was so quiet on their end you could hear a cockroach sneeze . I knew the game was done

Please tell me why you go for it on fourth and 8 on your own 25 and only down 13-0?????? I like confidence, but that's pure stupidity against a d like Varina's.
QB play was terrible. Pick a QB and stick with it. Iveon Lewis and Markel Dabney had 1 catch between them. Both are 4 stars and played with no fight. Linwood pressed too hard to “get back” at Varina and played out of the confines of his game. I like Charles Scott but I don’t think he even believed his team was gonna convert those 4th down conversions.

@BleedingNavy you’re spot on with the rec league comment.

@GoBlue2109 Don't know if you were there but I arrived to the game about 30 minutes before kickoff. Varina was on the field doing their pregame routine.. With about 12 minutes before kickoff you see 2 Richmond City Schools buses coming down Messer Road (it’s was Huguenot’s football team). Huguenot gets off the bus and comes on the field with a boom box acting like they just won the Super Bowl. My good friend who’s an admin at Varina told me they were riding down the road, heads out the window, banging on the bus, yelling out the bus “WE HERE” to the fans waiting in line to get in the game. Embarrassing as hell! I like Scott but they got that azz whipped and need to be more humble.

It bothered me all year Linwood was playing lights out and still had to share reps. Just no way you can do your QBs like that.

Varina already felt disrespected coming into this game. That's a bad move

A ton of talent demolished, because you think the playoffs in Class 4 is a damn show. Varina played smart and fundamental football. Coach Scott needs to take a long look at what it takes to win in Region B. He can surely get the players; however, it takes more than that to be a maestro. Have to get your talent ready for battle.

It's not a coincidence why the same teams in Class 4 are consistent contenders each year. Phoebus, Varina, King George, Salem, Tuscarora, and Dinwiddie HC's not only teach respect they have earned it. We could lose tomorrow, but I guarantee we will show KG all of the respect they deserve.

Don't worry, the best offense in the state can have an off night - just bad timing.
You must didn’t watch that game Huguenot wasnt winning that game on a sunny day where they are “on” I thought they got tougher over the offseason at least that’s what we were sold. They got punched in the mouth and had no response at all

I watched a little on the Facebook stream, but my comment was getting at @BoKnowsSports wishful comments earlier this week about the best offense in the state vs the best front 7. I hadn't seen any live or replays of Huguenot this season, but honestly didn't believe they had the best offense considering their schedule and results.

Oh yeah Maury in a landslide best offense I’ve seen all year. Then Hayfield then Oscar Smith (they also have a fumbling problem)

Their games against Powhatan & Monacan make me think they lose this game. Both of those teams are spread teams who run the ball & in both those games they trailed against inferior talent. Now you goto Varina and play against a team with the same scheme but SIGNIFICANTLY better talent who has played a stronger schedule than you, I think in the 4th quarter that will come into play. It means something when a team has been in a war a knows how to squeeze out a win even when they play bad. I said 24-22 Varina this weekend I’m starting to lean 28-16 Varina. I’ve just got to see it to believe it from Huguenot.
I felt it in my bones & it happened. It just came into play in the 1st quarter

I remember last year the sentiment was the same, Varina will easily beat Huguenot and that was not the case… also, same story about the weak schedule from the same posters. This Huguenot team is substantially better than their squad last year. Maybe Varina’s is too, we shall see. I would be stunned if Huguenot only scored 16 points though. The scores of X team against Y team don’t always act as much of a predictor. I could spiral out of control on that topic and show you many games that don’t add up this season when comparing wins against neutral opponents and margin of victories. I’ll admit, it is the only thing we have to go off of though. I think Huguenot’s offense is the most diverse that I have seen this year. Now maybe, Varina’s pass rush is so good they have no time but Varina will not be able to just pin their ears back. Huguenot has two very good tailbacks. I’d say for me, the one thing I wonder about Huguenot is can they consistently stop Varina. I know their defensive numbers have been great but Varina will definitely be the best team they faced all year so far.
🌚

This years Tiger team is still quiet young. They remind me on a weekly basis. QB looks like Sims one play, then loses his body mechanics the next. RB by committee with their best rusher losing the ball trying to get the last inches with five guys pulling at the ball. But their Defense is scary good. So far, I'd compare this version to their 2019 team. Almost ready for prime time! They have yet to be fully tested but as we know, every team in their Regional Finals are going to be tough to beat now!

Huguenot has two very bad losses since Scott has taken over and really haven’t dealt with much adversity. Last year’s what the hell loss to Cosby and last night’s 26-0 blowout. Gotta beef up the schedule. Varina returns 18 starters between offense and defense next season. I still think highly of Huguenot’s program but they are a ways away from beating a team like Varina.

i think Huguenot as a whole was convinced they were going to show up to Varina and Varina was going to lay down like a garden tool and they’d walk all over them. They seemed unprepared and when Varina punched them in the mouth they simply crumbled.

Sidenote: your best choice for best offense in the state definitely didn’t get the memo lol that’s why i called you the king of crazy comments. It’s all good tho

I was wrong big homie.. At least last night…. The states best offense puts up a better effort, but if you look at the ppg, they came in averaging 49.6. Can’t always go off of the numbers .

After Varina hit them in the mouth, it was over. Think the two on, two off QB series just threw Huguenot’s offense out of rhythm and they just couldn’t recover. Those three times they went for it on 4th down and didn’t get it, you saw their best players just drop their heads and they just never got into the game. I think Huguenot’s hierarchy of needs was 1. Talk a big game 2. Attempt to let Linwood Johnson get revenge on Varina (none of the Varina players cared if we’re being honest) 3. Chuck the ball down the field and pray one of their studs caught it. Thought their defense played the best they could’ve possibly played, just got nothing from their offense. They must’ve read my posts and believed the hype 🤷🏽‍♂️

49.6 PPG big homie. Technically they were one of the best.. I agree with you 10000% though!

When you run up the score on cupcakes it doesn’t translate. I was told they didn’t play much competition
It’s just all about matchups. Huguenot manhandled Bird who beat the (coaches pick) #1 team in the 804, Matoaca last night to advance to the ship. Manhandled a decent Manchester and a good Eastern View team 2x. Any given Friday night. I don’t think their schedule was weak, but I do believe they need a Varina or Dinwiddie or Oscar Smith on it to prepare for the playoffs.

I think we both know who the best team in the 804 is now…and it looks like Bo may actually know something about sports because you’ve been hyping Varina and I’m a believer now (don’t tell nobody i said this 🤣)

Id put Green Run’s offense over Smith’s. Salem out of Va Beach is good offensively too. Idk if many teams in the state had a 2000+ QB, 1800+ HB, and a 1000 WR in the regular season.

Man those are my boys in real life! I told bro @General172011 in the beginning of the year that I had no faith in the offense. I’m the only person in pick em to have them in the ship (and I got them winning a close game over yall). I’ve always felt like if their offense ever caught up to the defense, they’d be in the title game. Got three more great teams in front of them, but feel like it’s their year.

Coach Mills once told me “Dude, you don’t win in the playoffs scheduling cupcakes all year. That’s a recipe for disaster an I like to think that I’m a pretty decent chef” 😂 at 16 I didn’t understand that statement but I completely comprehend what he meant now!

Green Runs offense never translates though plus the beach has been down for years. This years version of Smith if they didn’t turn the ball over so much would be Top 3 in scoring

We have both been allocating for either Varina or Dinwiddie all season. Generals get the job done today it’ll be another Clash of the Titans!! This time a championship is at stake

Win out and they’ll get their chance is all I’m going to say. I’ve been told by coaches to STFU up here 🤣

Idk if this is true but I heard they scheduled highland springs next year
