VHSL Student Section Regulations?

Can't the home team receive a flag if the bands halftime performance runs over and the half time clock has expiredand the band is still performing?

Yes, but it’s complicated because the home team AD can extend halftime. Doubt it’s ever happened simply because home AD can make it a non-issue.

Actually, it's considered rude to interrupt the band during their performance. It is the marching band's field and they are kind enough to allow football games be played on it.

I have been at a football game where the opposing teams coaches complained to the officials that the home team band was playing while they were trying to signal calls in and at the line presnap. The official through a flag and the band was issued a warning. It hand to be explained to them how the band playing at that point was viewed as unsportsmanlike.
I agree with that. There is no reason for the band to play during any plays on the field. If Amherst is playing, they stop before the play starts. A school that played us two weeks ago, didn't they seem to only play when Amherst was on offense.
