If you ain't rubbing you aint racing.

No track baton is doing any damage if you get hit with it.

The other girls head got in the way of the accused going Hip Pocket to eye socket.

BEt you can knock someone out with a baton

You can get knocked out with just about anything to the back of your head. I can bet that it will break your skin as well.
We can test it out if you want to

Coach Roth hit me with one in 1986. Didn't do anything. The thing is alluminum. I can tell some of you guys never sniffed the relays.

Well if you don't care what anyones argument is then why would you post yours on a message board? Coach can't get down on the track as a coach in the state meet.................and the runner that allegedly hit the girl that fell out was gassed. She didn't know she did anything to apoligize for.

Wow....you must be related to this girl. You can see in the video she watches her fall out onto the infield. I was a coach...you can do basically anything you want in a situation like that. No class.

I once had a kid *almost* break the school record in the 3200 after completing 7 laps. He had a great kick in that 7th lap and called it quits.

Meet me at the ALMS track at 6:00 today with your 1.76 OZ baton....I'll let you hit me whereever you want that is not in my swimsuit area and you will not knock me out.

The girl that fell is making up a lie. no one hit her.

The Washington Post just put out an article that the young woman who struck another runner with the baton is being charged with a misdemeanor, one count of assault and battery.

As bad as the action was I feel like if they just came right out and said "I lost my cool. I take full responsibility blah blah anger management class ect." She probably just would've got a year long suspension. Now you in court losing time, money, and a lot unnecessary press.
Taking responsibility for ones actions in today's society is a foreign concept.

Not a mistake, clearly a piss poor choice that hopefully the young lady learns from. I’m no judge nor jury but the “excuses” for her actions were only because she got caught. We have to stop excusing these kids for negative behavior.
..and the parents sitting right there supporting her lack of accountability was hard to watch. As an AP, that is the stuff that frustrates me on a daily basis.

This thing escaped local news a few days ago, this is national news. Very embarrassing situation. Has the school made any disciplinary actions?

SMH… We’ve lost our minds as a society.

How anyone can look at that video and not see intent to harm is beyond me. The fact that the video is right there clear as day and people still say she didn't do it. The fact that these are adults makes it even more baffling

It’s almost like obvious lying has been normalized somehow. It is truly wild to witness.

Good lord almighty this. We let elected officials do this every. single. day. to us and then we dare finger wag children for monkey see, monkey do?
