Who will be the sleeper during the playoffs?

Just some sound fun and a good debate. Not the first time we have locked horns. Our passion for our teams sometimes get the best of us. Is that a good thing or not?

It's great and I really respect you both. I just hope Louisa and Dinwiddie don't play each other or y'all are gonna blow up these message boards lol

Its been a while, but I dont count my chickens before they hatch. May sound corny, but thats the way Navy Nation(Dinwiddie fans) think.

I am sure you dont know this, but we are bitter rivals. On paper we win, but you cant win games on paper.
I hear ya.....the old Joe Gibbs philosophy.....everyone can beat us....everyone is great except us.

Actually I will keep it low key. My fellow Dinwiddie posters will keep me in check. We dont generally talk smack about other teams, but thats way down the road.

Yeah, but who thought WA was going to beat Louisa? On any given Friday night!
Petersburg is struggling, but they have a quality coach in Coach Scott.

KJ Kearney was just an average, (plus), QB in 2013 too. But, he was so smart he almost never hurt his team's chances. Incidentally, an outstanding QB is about the complete package, not a few notable statistics. Things like smart decisions, leadership, setting the example, providing motivation, etc., count for at least as much as gaudy statistics.

As Navy pointed out, there are no receivers with mind blowing numbers on Dinwiddie. In fact, the running game is almost as equally diversified. We have been fortunate enough that when an opposing team says "we will not let player X beat us", other players step up.

No, I know what we have and am proud of this team. Too many teams take games off and suffer upsets. Anyone can get beat. Not likely by Petersburg, but Meadowbrook is always a war. Yes sir. One game at a time.

I learned my lesson when I thought our defense would at least contain Hanover last year. Won't hear a peep from me about my squad once the playoffs hit this year.

I'll jerk a knot in his old ass if I have to blackknight. LOL! The truth is though that he is the one that reels the rest of us in most of the time.

Off the subject, JT, (Joesph Tyree), that had the terrible ankle injury is doing great. His mother actually sang the National Anthem this past Friday night. Ask anyone that was there, her singing sent chills down your spine. What a beautiful voice, and a beautiful woman. But anyway, she said that the doctors told her that his recovery is weeks ahead of schedule. Of course, he is done until next season, but it means that he will be attacking his rehab and conditioning that much sooner. And RB #31 should be back in uniform in a week or two, after recovering from an injury.

Either one..., ketchup doesn't help, trust me.

I'm also an expert "how to prepare my foot before putting it in my mouth"! Ketchup doesn't help there either.

I said it was one example, I wasn't really about to list every wild pass from the game, c'mon. The entire point was you originally said:
I took that literally, and as a response to what I previously posted about pressuring him, and I pointed out that it's simply wrong and gave one example that is enough to prove why. He does do what his team asks of him, so we'll see how it all plays out and if it'll be enough for a deep run. I compare him to Brown because I think Dinwiddie would cruise to another title with Brown at QB. I think Dinwiddie's defense will come up bigger for them than the offense this year.
At this point comparing Dinwiddie 2013 and 2016 point totals at this point in the season they are averaging a astonishing 53.5 points a game. In 2013, at this point in the season they were averaging 53.25 points a game. Offense?! They are on track to score well over 720 points this season.

Sleeper to win at least 1 game:
4A East: Powhatan, even though LT and Louisa are not in top 4, historically very good and not likely to sneak up on anybody.
4A West: I like GW or EC Glass to pull off at least 1 win and maybe GW gets into the final 4.

The only top 4 seed I see GW beating is Byrd. If the points and seedings holds up (which they probably won't; so hypothetically speaking) if they can beat #10 Loudoun Valley, I think the #2 seed Terriers go down to GW.

Valley might not make top 12 again this year.

They most likely will lose final game of year to Woodgrove and fall out of top 12 like last year.
I am thinking Champe (7-3) and Heritage(Leesburg)(8-2 or 7-3) will sweak into top 12.

I think Heritage-Leesburg can upset someone big. And Cville is fully healthy again so hopefully we can at least make the playoffs, but in the west this year 6-4 might not get them in.

Hoos, I am not going to get in a pissing contest with you today I promise. I don't doubt your claim that the Chancellor quarterback is better. I could care less.

(1) Witt has thrown 2 interceptions! One was a deflection off a receivers hands. The other was thrown up for grabs in the end zone on fourth down when we were too close to punt and too far to kick a field goal. It was the fourth quarter against Matoaca and our backup quarterback had just gotten hurt on third down. That ones not on Witt. By the way against JM he played the entire game with a dislocated finger on his throwing hand from the scrimmage against LB and threw for over 170 yards in 3 quarters.

(2) We have not thrown 10 screens all season, so I don't know what you have been watching or hearing. Coach must be saving them for a later date and time.

(3) Witt utilizes Sturdivant out of the backfield (14 for 258 yds.) when the defenders retreat down field to cover, but that is simply smart football.

(4) Not saying he doesn't throw bad balls. Tell me a quarterback that doesn't, but he does not make bad decisions. You are going to point out one bad pass against Thomas Dale as a reference. Really?

(5) Pope is not our leading receiver or even 3rd. We have 5 receivers who have right at or over 250 yards for the season. Popes one handed catch was on a botched extra point attempt.

(6) I have never said Witt was the best quarterback in 4a someone else did. He does exactly what we need and he is a proven winner. 23- 5 regular season wins as a starter. 2-2 in the playoffs. Losses to Lake Taylor and Hanover. I'm not complaining and you wouldn't either. Only Hughey (LT) 36-2, Beckley (Salem) 22-1, Kovich (WG) 19-2 and Fludd (Monacan) 30-6 compare in win percentage. Mr. Brown from Chancellor is 16-13 for his career.

(7) I just looked over the stats. He has played 19 entire or partial quarters all season. That's 2.37 quarters per game.

Okay Hoos, I will compare stats with you and maybe you will cut the kid some slack.

Witt 76/116 1458 66% 16 tds. 2 ints. 144 qbr 14 yds per attempt
Brown 106/185 1638, 57%, 19 tds, 6 ints. 107 qbr 15 yards per attempt

Have a blessed day. Thanks for keeping this civil.

Not to belabor the point, but the Richmond Times Dispatch published the individual statistics of the top players from the greater Richmond area in today's edition. Dinwiddie's Bryce Witt has the highest QB rating for the area at 213.17. #2 is Carter from Highland Springs at 186.92, and #3 is Fludd from Monacan at 184.00.

Not too shabby.

Of the top 28 receivers in the area, Dinwiddie has 0. This illustrates how well Bryce reads the field and finds the open receiver.

A little more evidence of the "team effort" by Dinwiddie is the listing for yards rushing per game by a running back. You have to go all the way down to #22 to find Dinwiddie's only active running back on the list, Zyan Sturdivant.

Dinwiddie's "JT", (Joesph Tyree), is on the list at #33. Sadly, JT's season ended in game six when he sustained a serious lower leg injury. Out of the 44 highest producing running backs on the list, (on a per game basis), Dinwiddie has only one listing. I would say that that's spreading the ball around.
