William Byrd is much improved and has a very good running back in sophomore Larry Basham , who has rushed for 301 and 138 . Byrd is a much improved team that is very strong physically . They will come at you with smash mouth football but will surprise with a pass . Salem , has very young secondary.

Beat Amherst 45 to 12
Also scrimmaged Brookville, Magna Vista and benefit game against Jefferson Forest . Salem only has one starter back on defense and 3 on offense . This showed against Amherst at times with sloppy play and defense being out of position .

Hopefully Salem can reign in William Byrd's rushing attack. 2 years ago WB controlled the TOP and went on to beat Salem 30-29. Their QB is no Zac Hill, (WB QB from 2 years ago) but Culicerto has a decent arm and could burn Salem's young secondary trying to come in to help with the run game.
