Are the points pretty much straight across the board no matter who you play? Meaning, as a Class 6 team do you get the same points for beating a Class 5 team as you would a Class 6 team? Does your opponents record, meaning the quality of your opponent, come into play as well? etc etc

Well, it's early & every year, I have look it up. Matt should this as a sticky. I'm glad someone keeps track of this stuff. Anyone who attempts to track this has to input win & losses for every team in your area AND all the other teams who they play. See the power points track how your opponent does through out the year. Beat a great team and your golden. Lose to a poor team and your likely traveling through the playoffs!

Game Points
Teams receive game points regardless if they win or lose, but earn significantly more points for winning. For example, a team will earn 26 points for beating a Class 6 team, but will only receive 14 points for losing to a Class 6 team.

Class/Winning Against/Losing Against
Class 6/26/14
Class 5/24/12
Class 4/22/10
Class 3/20/8
Class 2/18/6
Class 1/16/4

Bonus/Rider Points
Bonus points (also known as rider points) are what separate great teams from good teams. For each opponent a team beats—they’ll receive 2 bonus points for each win that opponent has during the season. For opponents a team loses to—they’ll receive only 1 bonus point for each win that opponent has during the season.

For example, if Team A beats Team B who goes 0-10 during the season, Team A will receive no bonus points at all because Team B doesn’t have any wins (0 wins x 2 points) and Team B will receive 10 points (10 wins x 1 point). And if Team A beats Team C who is 9-1, Team A will receive 18 bonus points (9 wins x 2 points) and Team C will receive 10 points (10 wins x 1 point).

Classification Points
The addition of classification points makes it possible for higher class teams to play lower class team's without creating a disadvantage. Historical districts are still used as a core in scheduling, which creates some districts with different class teams. If a higher class team play's a lower class team, they will automatically receive 2 points for each class jump to make up for the difference in base points.

Stonewall-Battlefield play-in game this week. Maybe Woodbridge-Hylton too.

Justice probably has to win out to have a chance. When's the last time a 7-3 team missed the playoffs?

I agree with both of your assessments. If Stonewall drops their last game they are out. And Hylton is in if they beat Woodbridge. Justice needs a lot of help to make playoffs as they have a really weak schedule.

The bottom half of Occoquan and the two teams looking from the outside are all within 10 points. Impossible to predict. Will be able to do some playoff scenarios after this week.

Mount Vernon beat TC Williams in overtime. TC missed a short field goal near the end of regulation.

If Robinson and Justice both win next Friday the TC-Annandale game on Saturday might decide which one makes the playoffs.

The whole situation with Marshall is bogus. Look at SWJ's schedule compared to theirs. It's a "crime" to allow that team to finish (possibly) higher than SWJ in the standings. SWJ went out and played some damn good teams while Marshall played next to nobody. Including a regular season ending game against lowly Wakefield.

Here's another one for you to crunch, should you be so inclined. Currently, the Northern has WF-CV-MAD-MAR ranked 1 to 4. Should Centreville beat Madison this Friday (this will be a very good game) and Marshall beat 2-7 Wakefield (which is highly probable) my rudimentary paper and pencil calculations have it looking like WF-CV-MAR-MAD. This has huge implications for the Big 3 in the Concorde.

*Out dated: See below*

- Westfield will remain #1 even if they lose to Chantilly.

- If Madison beats Centreville, they will both be tied at 312 points before rider points come into play. Madison would own the tie-breaker if they end up tied.

- If Madison loses and Marshall wins, Marshall will have a 2 point lead on Madison before rider points come into play. It's certainly possible Madison can make up those points, and Madison owns the tie-breaker with Marshall if they end up tied.

Centerville
Max points with win: 330-341. With loss: 312-323. Points with wins from: +1 Chantilly, +2 John Champe, +2 South County, +2 Forest Park, +2 South Lakes, +2 West Potomac, +2 Oakton.

Madison
Max points with win: 312-325. With loss: 293-306. Points with wins from: +1 Chantilly, +1 Stone Bridge, +2 Marshall, +2 Fairfax, +2 West Potomac, +2 Washington-Lee, +2 South County, +2 Oakton.

Marshall
Max points with win: 297-307. With loss: 284-294. Points with wins from: +1 Madison, +1 Justice, +2 McLean, +2 Herndon, +2 Annandale, +2 George Mason.

I think I got this correct
Madison beats Cville
Each played 4 teams different teams so the others are awash in points
For Madison...
Fairfax should lose to Woodson= 0 points
W/L should lose to Yorktown = 0 points
Marshall should win = 2 points
Stone bridge if they win = 1 point
That’s 3 points

For Cville....
SWJ and FP don’t play = 0 points
South Lakes should beat Herndon = 2 points
Champe should beat Freedom = 2 points
That’s 4 points
Barring any upsets there Cville should retain seed # 2.

Forest Park does play. But yes, barring any major upsets it looks like Madison will fall 1-2 points short.

Updated scenarios based on tonight's results.

- Battlefield is eliminated.

- Woodbridge took care of business, needs Justice and Robinson to lose. If that happens they'd have a 7 point lead on Justice before rider points.

- Hylton can only sit back and watch, someone is going to miss the playoffs.

If Justice and Robinson both win, we are going to Saturday.

Justice is now effectively at 257, with one point from Marshall tonight and a guaranteed two from Lee/Edison. A win over Falls Church will put them at 293, with potential bonus points from Mount Vernon, Annandale, and McLean. Most likely result is an MV win and ending up on 294.

Robinson is effectively at 258, with Hylton and Woodson winning tonight, a guaranteed two from TC/Annandale, and a guaranteed one from LB/SC. A win over West Springfield puts them at 294, with potential bonus points from Chantilly and Hayfield. Most likely result is a Hayfield win and ending up on 295.

Hylton is at 293, with their win tonight and Woodbridge/Freedom also winning. They would pick up another point from a Robinson win. Remaining potential bonus points from Colonial Forge (playing North Stafford on Saturday), and winless Osbourn. They would lose a tiebreaker with Justice.

South County is effectively at 268, with Woodson winning tonight, a guaranteed two from Robinson/West Springfield, and a guaranteed one from Centreville/Madison. A loss to Lake Braddock would put them at 290, with potential bonus points from Hayfield, Westfield, and Langley, all of whom are strong favorites, so most likely result with a loss to LB is 295.

So if Justice and Robinson both win we most likely go to Saturday with this scenario with:

Justice 294 (potential +2 from Annandale)
Robinson 295 (including the guaranteed +2 from TC/Annandale)
Hylton 294 (potential +1 from Colonial Forge)
South County 295 (if they lose to LB)

I believe that Justice wins a tiebreaker with all teams, while Robinson wins a tiebreaker with Hylton due to their H2H win. South County's win over Robinson should get them the tiebreaker over Robinson and Hylton.

(Edited to include South County. If Mount Vernon is upset by West Po they could well be in that 294-296 range as well.)

Where is Westfield on the list for Madison or Chantilly? Stone Bridge was lined out for Madison because they lost, correct?

I had already factored that into the points. Since Chantilly (+2) plays Westfield (+1) they were already guaranteed +1 no matter the outcome. So if Chantilly wins, they would get an additional +1.

So whoever finishes with the 6th seed should be pulling very hard for CV.

I didn't realize Woodson and Marshall played last night.. Here's the last update with those games factored in. Happy score watching.
