2018 Class 6 Region C & D Power Points

Robinson is winning big and Justice is going down to Falls Church, so the eight teams for Region 6C will be set tonight. Osbourn snapped their 15-game losing streak by beating Osbourn Park, which should put Hylton ahead of Robinson. LB/SC was postponed to Saturday so seeding will have to wait.

Centreville will end up a 2 seed by 1 point over Madison.
South Lakes looks like the 4 seed with Marshall and Patriot tied for 5-6, waiting on the TCW and Annandale game to break that tie.
A TCW should give Patriot the 5 seed.

Does the Colonial Forge game tomorrow matter for Patriots point total?

Yes it would give Patriot one more point, but the Annandale-TC Williams game is worth 2 points to Patriot if TCW wins and 2 points to Marshall if Annandale wins.

And honestly I am waiting for Bounty to correct me, since he is really the expert.

I'm trying to get clarification on another issue before I post possible outcomes. But the answer to your question above is no. The best Patriot could do is tie Marshall, and Marshall would win the tie-breaker.

Here are the possible outcomes based on my understanding of tiebreaker E in the first two Freedom/Hayfield scenarios. Since Freedom played an opponent with less than a 10 game schedule (Life Christian Academy) they should be seeded before Hayfield. If Life Christian Academy wins today, Freedom will have more points anyway and it won't matter.

Northern is pretty much set, the TCW/Annandale game determines if South Lakes or Marshall has a home game next week.

Lake Braddock and South County will be playing again next week, whoever wins today gets the home game.

Anyone at the Madison game last night see a lackluster game plan by either team? Maybe the first quarter? Wasn’t til the weather turned bad did the players seem to get pumped up. Did the coaches hold back figuring that they would play each again in two weeks? Any thoughts?

Madison could not get out their own way with some penalties...that’s execution, not game plan...pushed them into long yardage situations. Warhawks scored in the first quarter and just into the second. Madison played the way Madison does...2 QB rotation, run/pass offense, hard nose /ball hawking defense, etc.; very similar to other games. Centerville moved away from their run game once they were down... and their QB was on the run a lot.

So when does the official bracket come out? Because I've got a different one than what's being batted around here. Looking at the points per VHSL rules there's some calculations I've seen that don't add up.

Four district rematches and all four Patriot District teams on the same side of the bracket. That's gotta be rare. And boring.

Post what you have. VHSL hopes to release by noon Sunday.

My calculations came up with these top 8, which give us a different match ups in the brackets. Just noticed the week 10 ratings that were posted here seem to not include the differentials on the class. I don't have any ties but.. is it a miscalculations of the bonus points? Do they matter for some and not for others?

This is after tonight's games.

Freedom at 8? That can't be correct.

Noticed something wrong in the formula... so I had to rework it... but still coming up with different numbers. Using excel formulas to run the numbers just as a fun exercise.
