St Christopher's 67 Hermitage 51 (Unity Bracket Championship)
VCU commit Brandon Jennings finished with 24 points and 18 rebounds to lead St Christopher's to a 67-51 win over Hermitage 67-51 to win the Unity Bracket of the 804 Coaches for Change Community Classic.
The Saints opened the game on a 9-0 run and never trailed while leading by double-digits for most of the game.
Senior Kellen Welch scored all eight of his points in the first half including two 3-pointers to give St Christopher's the lead after the 1st quarter. for the Saints who led 23-15 after the 1st quarter. The Saints extended the lead to 30-15 with a 7-0 run to open the 2nd quarter and led 41-29 at halftime.
The Saints held the Panthers to 19 of 51 shooting (37.3%) did a great job holding high scoring guard Eiden Harvey to 12 points after he had scored 18 points in the Hermitage win over Matoaca.
Jennings dished out five assists and had three blocks to earn tournament MVP. Guard Sonny Bridges added 14 points on 7 of 9 shooting while Stuart Cosby contributed 10 points and five boards. Center Darius Gray chipped in six points and eight rebounds.
Harvey led Hermitage with 12 points and Kevontae Williams had 11 points four rebounds and two blocks.
