Opening kickoff pins South County inside their own 5 yd line... then a 3rd down interception. First play from scrimmage is a Quince Orchard touchdown. South County 3 and out on the next possession with ball to QI around the SC 30 yd.; QO moves it down for a 2nd score.

Opening play play of 3rd SC series is a RB handoff to the right and long run down the sideline called back for a hold....

SC punts and QO starts at the 50 yd. line...QO backed up 2nd and 20 with a holding penalty. Screen pass gets most of it back. Option QB keeper down to the SC 30 yd line.

End of Q1 with QO on the SC 12 yd line.

Observation #1 -- QO had 2 QB sneaks in Q1... both for 3 yds with their line surge.

QO play action pass to the left side from the 6 yd line or so for another touchdown after several runs right up the middle of 3-4-5 yds.

Strong kickoff return for the Stallions from the 2 yd line up to the 45. D holding call gets SC close to a first down and they make their 1st one of the game with designed QB run. Long pass completion on a scramble to the QO 15 yd line and a QO timeout.

SC short 5 yd completion then a 7 yd run off tackle to the 2 yd line for 1st down. A few of runs inside the 1 yd line, couple of QO penalties, a SC timeout, on 3rd down and inches pushed back to the 4 yd line and only made a yard on 4th down. QO ball.

QO QB sneak with the pile going 12 yds for a first down. A couple of penalties have QO at 3rd and 16 and an incomplete pass. QO punts to a SC fair catch at the QO 40 yd line, but a SC substitution penalty. SC gets the ball at the QO 49 on the rekick.

SC tries a long passes -- incomplete. A screen -- incomplete. Scramble to avoid a sack and completion to the middle of the field for 1st down. Another incomplete, right side out route complete just short of the marker, 3rd down -- incomplete. 2:44 left in half and a TO.

SC run to the right side on 4th down and they make a 1st down at the QO 20 yd line. After an incompletion, QB rolls left and sacked and a holding penalty. QB rolls left again and sacked again. SC punts from the QO 43 yd. line and down the ball at the QO 5 yd. line.

QO QB keeper around the left side for 15 yds. SC whistled for offsides. QO screen diagnosed by SC for a 3rd yd loss.

SC overmatched up front on both sides of the ball. Doubt QO will have much trouble making the championship game in MD again.

Very nice crowd, especially considering it was a Saturday on a holiday weekend. QO had a good contingent including student section and band. There is certainly interest in matchups like this.

otnorot -- I am looking for forward to South County's match ups with James Madison, Fairfax, and Lake Braddock... that will tell us a lot about how the Region C and D playoffs will stack up.
