Region B Ratings and Playoff Matchups

Would like to see all 4 of these. From the very first week,
If Ft. Defiance gets Armentrout back, I would not be surprised at all if they topped Strasburg. If he’s rusty or not playing, the Rams should prevail.

CW at Buckingham ought to be a really good game….a finals worthy matchup in the first round. A real toss up IMHO.

If MC’s passing game is on, it could be interesting at Clarke. Not sure MC can consistently stop CC on defense but if they could get on top early…

No idea about Riverheads and SD.

Region B Seeds and points

I agree @BoKnowsSports. Powhatan is getting healthy, is well coached and have some nice weapons. This is not a gimme game. They have to stop our run game and we will need to play sound pass defense. The Courtland and KG game intrigues me. Glad Varina and Huguenot may end up beating on each other again. If Dinwiddie's and King George win in round one it will be three years in row.

Galax forfeits Fort Chiswell

Galax had alot of problems this year, they graduated their two best players
from last year(Tucker and Ashworth). Some of the most talented players on this year's team got injured and even had some that couldn't play due to grades. Not to mention from what I've been told there is a lot of attitude problems with this year's team? Galax has more problems right now than most people realize and I'll just leave it at that. On a side note I'm very appreciative of what Mark Dixon and Shane Allen did for Galax football but it's looking like it will be several years before they could be truly relevant again even as weak is class 1 is right now.

Final C standings

1. Glenvar (9-1). 23.400
2. Radford (7-3). 22.600
3. Gretna (7-3). 21.600

Region A Ratings & Playoff Match Ups

Kwhs, what do you think about your boys going down to Courtland? I think KW can win, but they will have to be disciplined defensively. Southamptons offense is solid, but Southampton has also played a weak schedule and nowhere close the schedule of KW and that hurts SH. I think it will be a close game. I also think that if King William wins game 1 against Southampton, they will play in the region championship because game 2 will be easier than game 1.
I've watched a little film on Southampton, and they do have a potent offense. The QB is very accurate and has like 36 TD passes thus far. He's got several good WRs, with the Bradshaw kid looking like the most explosive, despite not being very big. Add to that, they have a 1200 yard rusher as well... But, KW has been extremely battle tested, and the reason they play a hard schedule is because of this time of year. Southampton hasn't played what I'd consider a good team since mid September. Will that hurt them if the game is close in the 4th? I guess we'll all know by this time next Saturday. I feel confident in Coach Moore and the KW staff in having KW ready to play, in what could potentially be a shootout.

4-D playoff match-ups now looking set...ish

I think Salem actually wins the tiebreaker off the very odd third tiebreaker (d) which states "A team that played an opponent with an effective nine (9) game schedule(non-recognized opponent, i.e., home school or out-of-state non-public school, or inability to schedule/play a 10th game) shall be seeded ahead of a school whose opponents play 10 game schedules."

LCA is playing a 9 game schedule so if I'm reading this correctly then that tiebreaker should apply and give the seeding to Salem. (b) is H2H and (c) is common opponents so neither apply. If I'm misreading or misinterpreting and we go to (g), which is average combined power rating then I also expect that to go to Salem as I did a brief skim of the numbers from last week and I believe there is too big of a gap for Handley to pick up in a single week.

Courtland @ EV

1000% correct on all fronts. Extremely frustrating to watch and even follow. The style of play was sloppy. The officiating and the officiating mechanics were sloppy as well (don't get me started on them winding the clock after players clearly went out of bounds multiple times in the first half)

If these are the second and third best teams in the Battlefield, then I'm sorry. They are both most likely exiting after next week's games. They both should get smoked.
I can tell you that King george isn't much better. They can score pretty well, but they have issues on defense.

#3 Bruton (8-2) vs #6 Nottoway ( 5-4)
#2 Southampton (9-1) vs #7 King William (4-6)

Matoaca @ Dinwiddie

A hell of a game. The pass drops, poorly throw passes, and penalties took away from the excitement of the contest, butitwas still a very exciting game with all of the offensive firepower on both team.

I think Bleeding Navy told me he issued 17 different media credentials for tonight’s game. Obviously, a lot of folks expected it to be the game it turned out to be.

I guess Bleeding Navy will post the 4B ratings shortly. I know is currently working on them. But with nearly 100% certainty, Dinwiddie is the #1 seed and will host Powhatan, the #8 seed.
I will probably come down in two weekends to watch you guys play King George (if the Foxes are a 4 Seed). I always enjoy coming down there even though it comes with seeing one of my Battlefield teams get beaten.
