Region B Seeds and points

I like Huguenot by running clock over EV.

Powhatan and Dinwiddie will be close. Just don’t see Powahtan’s defense being able to stop Dalton consistently.

KG over Courtland. KG’s secondary will have to step it up. They have a freshman and sophomore playing on the back end.

Varina/Hanover will be very BLAH. I think Hanover played too conservative and scary last time. Varina can’t start looking ahead to Huguenot.

Really really hate that Hanover got that playoff spot over Monacan.
I watched Courtland at Eastern View last night. A sloppy game by both sides and the officiating was hot garbage on both sides.

Eastern View has an elusive quarterback who can throw it a mile. They also have some elusive running backs. Courtland can run the ball, and if they run lure King George to sleep and keep possession, then they will be able to keep next week's game close. Courtland actually cost themselves about 1:30 late in the game last night by passing incomplete on second and third down when they had the lead.

I watched King George against Spotsylvania last week and they have the athletes (again) to turn the lights out early. I actually think that winning the coin toss will be key in this one as Courtland will want to take the ball first to chew through the first quarter.

Spotsylvania did well with ball fakes. Some of the best I've ever seen them do. And that's one of the big reasons they were able to catch King George off guard and put up 42 last week against the Foxes.

I still see both Courtland and Eastern View with early first round exits with King George getting bounced in the second round by at least two scores at Dinwiddie.

Hayfield

Huguenot might be the next to get caught. They were downtrodden for years and years, now magically overnight they're a state power. Pretty soon there will probably be a transfer portal in high school smh
The difference between Hayfield and Huguenot is that most of Hayfield's players transferred from another VHSL member school. Most of Huguenot's transfers came from a non VHSL member school (Life Christian). No rules against players transferring between public and private schools other than age.

It's Been a While

I had forgotten my login information and could not remember which email address I used to even be able to reset my password. 🙃 I was using my old account @Pioneers02Champs occasionally. I'm glad to be back and able to connect with everyone again!

I am no longer living in Lynchburg or affiliated with E.C. Glass anymore so I haven't been following Seminole District and Class 4 football as much. My new location and school has me following Class 6 more but no one really posts much about Class 6, so here I am.

@BoKnowsSports @DinwiddieProud @BleedingNavy @mike salem @one man...how you guys been?

5C seedings

I think the higher seeds win in every game except the Louisa vs. Midlothian game. I have Louisa winning big.. The Bird vs. Hermitage game intrigues me. @BoKnowsSports do you think Hermitage can win?
Bird didn’t impress me at all when I saw them play Huguenot. I think Bird is way more coached up than Herm and I give them the edge. You just never know what you’re getting with Herm. Thought they played scared against Varina and Highland Springs. Definitely got the athletes to compete with anyone in this region.

Region B Ratings and Playoff Matchups

I haven’t seen any film on BC this year, but I do believe you. I just think that them being in no close games this year could hurt them-especially against a squad like Central who has been deep in the playoffs 3 years in a row. If BC can win a close game I think that dynamic changes and they become very dangerous. That is just my only hesitation. They very well could win the region.
First year in a long time that I can say 1-8 could win this region. One of if not the toughest 2a region in the state. Upsets this year to me are by seed number nothing else. All 8 are good football teams. I know if you play Clarke, Strasburg and Central you need your lunch pail. They are gonna punch hard for 4 quarters. Riverheads if they are healthy you can not count out the heart of a champion. Buckingham has been dominant all season. Fort is battle tested and Armentrout is back. Draft has momentum with the dominant win over Riverheads. Madison what version of the Mountaineers is gonna show up. The fighters from last night against Clarke or the version that looked lost against Strasburg. Buckle up Region B is going to be wild.

RPS

How many high schools does Richmond have? Why didn’t all them play? Im beyond out the loop on Richmond city high schools
Five: Huguenot is the biggest, then RCSA, Thomas Jefferson, Armstrong and John Marshall. They are split up into a couple of different districts.

Henrico County to the north and Chesterfield County to the south have dozens more each, not to mention Hanover, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Petersburg city, Hopewell city, etc….

Jefferson Forest PA announcer

I attended the JF-LCA game last night. The PA announcer needs to talk less, he appeared to be broadcasting the game on some radio station in addition to PA. He talked entire game. Very annoying.
Exactly! He was so annoying. It drove the Amherst fans crazy. Our fans were still talking about it last night. I’ve never heard anyone narrate a game like that.

Region B Ratings and Playoff Matchups

One thing about BC and I know their recent history of underperforming in the playoffs, but........I think they are just flat out better this year than previous years. Their record might have been a bit overinflated in the regular season the past few years due to a weak schedule, but I don't think it is this year. They've pummeled their opponents and I'm sold on em as having a team this year much better than the previous few years that has the ability to not just win B, but having the ability to win in the semis also. I'm not saying they will, but the talent is there and they are good enough this year. The problem? So are about 5 or 6 more teams in Region B

Region B Ratings and Playoff Matchups

Lots of epic storylines to follow in this region playoffs. Should be a lot of fun.

Madison and Clarke are sort of de facto district “rivals” in the Bull Run because they both don’t have local rivals in the district. Feel like they always play each other tough no matter the sport. Clarke should win this but Madison certainly has the ability to make them sweat…much more so than your traditional 8 seed.

Buckingham has a rough history of having incredible regular seasons and losing early in the 2B playoffs. It’s not their fault: the level of competition just skyrockets every year-and where teams like Central have played Riverheads, Staunton, Clarke, Strasburg etc, Buckingham hasn’t been challenged. This is the biggest game in the first round IMO: if Buckingham can win and get that big game experience this year I really think they can go up and give Clarke (assuming they win) a tough time.
Central, on the other hand, has the best Class 2 playoff experience out of anyone in the field. Barahona has been here. They won the region twice and made it to the finals last year. They cannot be ruled out, and their passing game makes them a hard to prepare for threat.

Riverheads and Draft in the first round…oh boy. Big Red has dominated the Cougars in recent memory-but the confidence Draft got from their huge win a few weeks ago totally changed this dynamic. Riverhead lost in the regular season and then blew out Central in the playoffs last year-they are very capable of adjusting-but Draft didn’t just squeak by the Gladiators this season-they destroyed them. This game being in Greenville matters-all of south Augusta will be there. I think it’ll be close either way. Either team that gets through has a good shot in the next round IMO-but nothing is certain.

Fort Defiance and Strasburg is a playoff rematch that I expect Strasburg to win IF Armentrout isn’t healthy as many have said. The Bull Run and Shenandoah were both blood baths this year-Fort has the huge Riverheads win, Strasburg has the big Central win….but the Rams have the advantage of the home end of the trip up 81, and a think they can pull away in this one if the chips fall right.

I’ll take Clarke by 14, Central by 10, Draft by 6 and Strasburg by 12.

Good luck to everyone.
