Westfield 63 - Wakefield 0

For the second week in a row Westfield overwhelmed their opponent to win going away. This week they faced Wakefield. The Wakefield offense had some limited success late in the game, but they fumbled four times, losing one, and threw four INTs. Westfield scored nine TDs on their first eight offensive series (a total of 18 plays) and also had an INT for a TD. For Wakefield, Jones had a fumble recovery and Ledbetter led the rushing attack, almost scoring on a long run late in the 4th quarter until he was stripped of the ball at the Westfield three yard line to keep Wakefield off the board.

Westfield scores were tallied by the following players:
Duda (7 yard run, 52 yard run, 36 yard run, 55 yard run)
Carlson (1 yard run)
H. Thompson (14 yard pass from Carlson)
Morin (22 yard INT return)
Lee (65 yard run)
C. Thompson (33 yard pass from H. Johnson)
Wiemann (9 XPs)

For turnovers forced by Westfield, Morin and Rennyson each had two INTs and Gwyn had a touchdown saving fumble recovery.

Salem 42 Hidden Valley 6 Halftime

No use trying to sugar coat it. Their defense is abysmal. As for their offense, it does well against mediocre teams. The 2 best teams they have faced, they are averaging 14 pts on offense and giving up over 30 pts on D. That's not going to cut it come playoff time.
Good thing playoff games aren't won on averages. LCA 35- 21. WF 25-7. Could have easily been 25-0. Good thing for Salem is none of the teams in our region are anywhere near as good as those two teams right now. For top of C4 I don't see Salem beating Phoebus, Dinwiddie Co, Varina or CA champ. You still have to play the games. Too much Armageddon talk.
