The Cougars looked much better this year in the scrimmage. Out scored FC 4 tds to none. I know FC is rebuilding some this year but they have some nice looking athletes. PC executed well and looked much better defensively.

Good Sunday Morning! It's Game Week!!!

I am venturing to Wanner Stadium this Thursday for my first game of the season. Catching Spotsylvania at Lafayette. I hope visiting fans realize that this is where the game is being played and not at the high school or at Cooley Field where the Knights played the Rams a long time ago.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good places to eat around the stadium that will be open before and after the game. Any help on that end would be appreciated and any tips regarding parking and the stadium would be nice as well.

Should be a good game in Buckingham this Friday. I've heard they have several athletes and they are one of the few teams to have beaten the Raiders in the past years.
Appomattox was beaten by a talented LCA team in the benefit game this past Friday. They have a junior RB that is the real deal and already has verbally committed to Clemson, couple that with a good line and you have a weapon. Appo created a few stops though and had some offense of their own as well.

Anyone heard of a possible location for the Class 5 football state championship game?

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Alleghany Highlands Public Schools will merge Covington High School and Alleghany High School in the fall of 2023. which is why Monday, the school got a new mascot, a cougar, which started the new chapter.

“Our cougar was born through a unifying spirit of purpose, focus and resolve that is present throughout the Alleghany Highlands,” said Jonathan Arritt, vice chairman of the school board.

In July 2022, Alleghany County Public Schools and Covington City Public Schools merged into Alleghany Highlands Public Schools.

“We’ve been so fortunate to come together as a family quickly. As you might understand, in this process, we’ve been working together a lot,” said Kim Halterman, superintendent of AHPS.
