Legitimate question regarding HSHS/Varina game!

We have seen the scores all year long from both of these teams. We have seen the difference in the results when they have played mutual opponents. We already saw how Varina had their hands full with Hanover, and we just saw what Highland Springs did to that same Hanover team. I’m not sure if I can do this, but I have seen Varina play a team with similar speed(Hermitage) as Highland Springs played when they played Julius Chambers. Now,everyone seems to think, Patrick Henry will give Varina a good game, but Highland Springs just absolutely blew out the same PH team. Can someone please explain to me,LEGITIMATELY,how people think this game will be “the game of the century”? There could be some arguing in this, so let’s be nice!! But…let’s hear it! I got HSHS winning by 2 TDs!

Quarterbacks in Class 4 Region B

I tried to secure stats for the quarterbacks of the top 8 teams in Region B, but could only find a few. Any help would be appreciated. I have added a little blurb on each. Whose the best and why?

Myles Derricott - Varina: Led his team to the state title last year. Good runner and accurate passer. Makes sound decisions. No stats available.

Cole Elrod - Hanover: Big bodied qb. Can beat you deep in football and baseball. Bruising runner with deceptive speed. Nice touch on his throws. No stats available.

Zach Ferguson - King George: Accurate passer and capable runner. Good touch on the long ball and can escape the rush. Stats: ( 6 games only) 1,105 yards passing 18 tds, 3 int's. 254 yards rushing 5 tds. Updated....

Dylan Travillion - Powhatan: Very young, but talented. Very accurate passer. Has thrown for over 200 yards twice this season. No stats available.

D'myo Hunter- Eastern View:. Very fast and elusive. A bit undersized, but gets the job done. Works out of the pocket very well. Stats: (5 games) 754 yards passing 12 tds 0 int's. 380 yards rushing 4 tds.

Grayson Johnson - PH Ashland: Tough runner and average passer. Plays linebacker, so you know he likes it physical. No stats available.

Riley Justice- Matoaca:. Another small, but capable qb. He throws on the run very well and finds his receivers. Average runner, but he rarely do so. Stats: (7 games) 946 yards passing 10 tds and 5 int's. 1 rushing td.

Harry Dalton - Dinwiddie: Very strong running sophomore qb. Played tail back as a freshman. Throws the ball with pace. Stats (7 games) 1037 yards passing 17 tds with 6 int's. 826 yards rushing with 13 tds.

Region C Breakdown

1. Radford has Glenvar and James River left. Have them winning both but Glenvar could be good game.
2. Martinsville has Patrick and Bassett left. Have them splitting them.
3. Appomattox only has William Campbell left and should win out.
4. Floyd has Carroll and Allegheny left and should win out. As long as Radford beats Glenvar Floyd will finish fourth. If not fifth.
5. Glenvar has Radford and Giles left. Have them splitting them. If they beat Radford would be 4 but then and Floyd will have first round rematch.
6. Alleghany only has Floyd left and will finish sixth unless Dan River wins out which would push them to seventh.
7-9 All this basically comes down to Chatham Dan River game next week. Winner is in and loser out. If Dan River loses to Chatham but beats William Campbell have them tied for eight at 182 points with Chatham having head to head tie breaker. If Dan River beats both that would push them past Allegheny for six. If they were to beat Chatham but lose to William Campbell they would be in at eight. Gretna has Tunstall and Nelson left. Should win out and will be in at 7-8 depending on Chatham Dan River game. Dan River wins Gretna is 8 and if Chatham wins 7. Have them at 184 and would be two points ahead of Chatham and Dan River at 182. The Chatham Dan River game next week will decide 6-8.

Gretna jv

Wanted to give a shout out to Gretnas jv team. After losing first three to big schools, two point loss to Jefferson Forest, one score to Magna Vista, and 25-0 to EC Glass which isn't that bad they haven't lost a game since. Closest game since they have played is 18-0 over Appomattox. All the rest have been by 30 or more with a win at Altavista last night 65-0. Got some real talent coming up. QB throws about as good as any varsity QB I've seen. They probably throw the ball 75% of their plays. Seen QB throw a 50 yard dart while on the run with just a flick of the wrist. Alot of people in Gretna betting they could beat our varsity.

King George 23 Eastern View 13

King George led 23-0 at halftime and did enough after halftime to hold on to beat District rival Eastern View 23-13.

Senior quarterback Zach Ferguson scored from 30 yards out on a quarterback keeper to make increase the lead to 21-0. A defensive safety by the Foxes a few minutes later had the home crowd believing a rout was forthcoming.

Eastern View came out in the 2nd half playing inspired football and forced two 3-and-outs in the 3rd quarter. The offense ended a 10-play, 69 yard scoring drive with a 2-yard run by Darius Stafford.

The Cyclones crept even closer after an 8-play, 73-yard scoring drive. Junior quarterback D'Myo Hunter connected with Stafford who turned a short completion into a 45-yard touchdown reception. Eastern View recovered the onside kick however Hunter was pushed out of bounds while trying to convert a 4th-and-4.

King George ran out the final 5:53 with senior running back Aydin Woolfolk and quarterback Ferguson doing most of the damage.
