Cool joke. I seriously wanted to know because this is the 2nd year in 3A and once again I've never heard of most of the teams (and even the towns they're from)...so it's kind of a "relief" to have heard of a potential opponent.

Anybody know if 3A will do West vs East in the state semis again or will it be East vs East? Would love to see that Stuanton River team that's putting up ridiculous scores in the playoffs play Phoebus.

Yes, looks like if Phoebus wins Sat, they will play Blacksburg or Heritage winner.. It is possible to see a Phoebus, SR championship.

So it won't be a team of Magna Vista of last year caliber coming into Darling to play Phoebus. The way Phoebus is playing now with their full team healthy I just don't see anyone stopping them from being at William & Mary. The playoffs last year were way more competitive...still can't believe we're playing a team that finished 5th in its district for the region title.

No that Warrior team last year was really good. I will say Blacksburg does have some athletes, and just beat a really good Brookville team. So they are hitting their stride at the right time. If Heritage wins, they have one of the best running backs in the Seminole district, and Caleb Snead is a really good wide out. I definitely wouldnt over look any of these two, but I think with Phoebus defense they should pull out the win.

Don't think either of those teams have seen the kind of speed Phoebus has on defense this year. Watched a Blacksburg game against Christianburg on Youtube and was confused how they finished 5-5 (unless Christianburg is really bad). I'm still looking for Heritage game footage but can't find any.

Do they play defense though? The only team of the 4 remaining West teams that seems to be playing defense in the playoffs is Rustburg.

I've seen Lakeland. They are way different than Phoebus athlete wise. Nice runningback but nothing that Phoebus hasn't seen.

BTW: there only one Hopewell in the Commonwealth - a small city between Richmond and Petersburg
