That is why most teams calculate their own Power Ratings and if they aren't then they should. The VHSL gets scores from the AP and ithere are times where the AP is wrong. They reported the Poquoson-Warhill game as Warhill winning 19-16 in 2ot when it was Poquoson winning in 2ot. The first week of the release it had Hampton with a loss and they were undefeated. Again check behind the VHSL don't take for granted that they are right.
Yep exactly which is why I had stated a few weeks back that some in pod 17 and pod 18 are going to get screwed because they are going to out point the teams in 19 & 20 and still not get in. I know the answer from reading other posts its going to be just win. Well if you play tougher teams in your district and tougher teams are in your pod its pretty tough to make the playoffs. Some teams in pod 19 & 20 do not have tough districts and the pod is not nearly as tough as 17 & 18. Power points speak for them selves.Just for kicks if 4A East hadn't split up
1. LT vs. Heritage
8. Eastern View vs. 9. Grafton
4. Monacan vs. 13. Wilson
5. Kings Fork vs. 12. Louisa
2. Courtland vs. 15. Deep Creek
7. Hanover vs. 10. Denbigh
3. Lafayette vs. 14. Smithfield
6. Chancellor vs. 11. Dinwiddie
If you notice there is no Midlothian, but Heritage NN would be in. This is one of the reasons I don't like the pod set up. There will be teams that get in with lower power ratings, but because they are in the right pod they get in.
Fully agree with you there. All the teams should be calculating their own points and probably the points in there pod or region. VHSL makes enough mistakes to just scratch your head. Maybe each classification should report to a regional or classification chairman to streamline the process. Just a thought, thanks Devils for your weekly updates for 4A East
