Let’s start it up. The portal smoke is clearing up and 7 on 7’s start up in the next month. Going to be an insane year with Louisa coming down from 5C. Lots of story lines for 2025.

Can Huguenot get over the hump?

Is Varina the best team in the state?

How dangerous is Louisa?

Will 4B run through Dinwiddie again?

Is Spotsy the new power in the Battlefield?

It’s hard to tell with Huguenot being that they only have one OOD game a year you won’t know how they do against comp until the playoffs. I hope they learned from last year though that was embarrassing all around.

On paper I would have to say they are. They have the 3 most dynamic players in 4B for sure (Wyche, D1, Bull)

Their soft schedule is going to bite them

I want to say yes but that’s just the homer in me. Seeing how they preform against Highland Springs & Salem back to back will let me know. I do know they are very motivated this year can’t wait to see them put it together.

Last year they played KG very tough and battled with EV for a half. Idk what they have coming back but I know Luds resume will not allow for failure. They be in the 4-6seed range come playoff time just off of better coaching.

Salem is not a good test for anybody’s team to know how far they can go in playoffs UNLESS they expect to see Salem there and need to know how they stack up against them.

Salem is one of a kind team to play. Salem can prepare you to play throwback teams that block down, kick out, and embarrass your d1 defensive tackles with their 205lbs weight room offensive line. How many teams like that are you going to face deep in the playoffs?(unless you expect to see Salem, of course)

Nope too much Varina. Now add louisa to the mix. Still got Dinwiddie. Gonna be tough. My main question for them is actually QB. He's gonna have to be able to move against playoff teams.

Is Varina the best team in the state?
We'll learn very early against Maury. They'll have a chance if the offense is an actual system this year. I hate they're missing out on playing "PME 18u" again. Losing those points hurt.

How dangerous is Louisa?
Extremely. I think they have the 2 best players in the region. How good is the supporting cast?

Will 4B run through Dinwiddie again? Potential loss to HSHS. But the points will be close. I can't wait to see the new version of the offense. 3rd seed at worst.

Is Spotsy the new power in the Battlefield?

Did the rest of KG staff also follow? That was a quality staff they had.

You know it is funny you bring this up. I was just telling my wife in the car this evening about the fact that it is closer than we realize. I'm going to be attending some showcases at the end of April, beginning of May. By the time school year closes surveys will be disseminated to coaches and July (4 months) you will start seeing content for previews... granted the mid to end of July.

Can Huguenot get over the hump? Depends on your definition of hump. Can they get to the region finals? That is the big question for me... so much talent but can you imagine if they underachieve again?

Is Varina the best team in the state? Region... I think so.... state... I'm sure Phoebus will have something to say about that but I will say if Varina stays healthy, with the additions to the team... they should be even better than last year.

How dangerous is Louisa? Very... I don't know a lot about them like I do the teams of the Capital, Central, Colonial & Dominion Districts. The Lions lost by just one point in the playoffs to William Fleming. It very easily could have been the Lions playing LC Bird in the Region 5C playoffs.

Will 4B run through Dinwiddie again? You never count out a Billy Mills coached Generals team. He has a way of getting the best out of what he has. The only hesitation for me is replacing a talent like Harry Dalton.

Is Spotsy the new power in the Battlefield? I think this year could be iffy but come 2026 I wouldn't be surprised if Spotsy is a team to contend with. I think 2025 they might surprise you but I wouldn't expect King George Pt. 2 in year 1.

This is not informed, just 100% speculation. Maybe there’s a recruiting tug of war with some Huguenot players and the private schools. Maybe he’s looking to make a statement to be able to point to that when a private school swoops in promising the world. No clue. Just a guess.

Great posts @CRF4Dan @GoBlue2109@General172011 @CrushBlock

If I had to rank 4B right now I’d go
1. Varina
2A. Dinwiddie
2B. Huguenot
4. Louisa
5. Spotsy

I like Dinwiddie 10-0, Varina 9-1, Louisa with the easy 10-0, and how about Huguenot? Not switching up on them but come on man.. ST. Christ?!? Definitely could’ve went out of state or even played St. James. Playing St. Christ is no upgrade over playing Eastern View. Just really think they should’ve gone all out especially with the team they bring back.

Varina is loaded but I believe they’ve been more loaded. They had Eric Smith, Kaveion Keyes, LJ Booker, and others a few years back so this isn’t anything new for them. Arguably a better defense with Marquis Vincent, Keyes, a young Bull Richardson and Elijah Brown on defense as well? King George Foxes sent em home. Varina is also replacing two important pieces in their secondary this year.

I think Dinwiddie will have a lot to say about this region, especially with their SOS and what they bring back. They bring a healthy Zion Bossieau back (my early fave for 4B Region Player of the Year) , Robert Pettaway will be the best LB in the region not named Braylon Hood, JC McDowell is back, a healthy Josh Adams will be back, rising 10th grader Jordyn Williams is the next big time stud out of Dinwiddie…They lost 8 seniors and they have one of the best rising 9th grade classes in the 804..

Louisa will be very very dangerous, especially to Varina and Huguenot. They have the two incredible players but they also bring back every offensive and defensive lineman. They were extremely young last year. Their out of district schedule isn’t the worst I’ve seen but I would’ve liked to seen them play Huguenot or Herm or even Glen Allen.

Lastly, I believe this is a make or break year for Huguenot. The hype has worn off. I still believe they are the deepest team in this region. They have to beef it up in the trenches and play disciplined football in order to compete with Dinwiddie or Varina. They’ll be much better since they’re not doing that two QB rotation crap this year.

Is Varina the best team in the state?? That’s a wild question lol
They have 8 Power 4 guys plus they’re coming off a state championship appearance. Those 8 consists of linemen and skill guys which is a rarity. I think it’s a legit question especially with some really good players for you all graduating next month. That’s no disrespect or slight to the 4 straight boyz in Hampton. I believe you all will be 14-0 and be in Lynchburg again this December. I think C4 will be much much closer this year, especially Region B.

Spotsy will get KG’s whole staff. Addison/Lunsford run the offense, Goode runs the defense and Washington coaches up the skill guys. They will come in swinging and I believe they’ll be 10-0 come playoff time. More depth, more linemen, better facilities, and Spotsy, even though they’ve been down, they love their football program over there. Could definitely see the better Courtland, Ponax and Chancellor kids going there. They win but just as importantly, they run an offense and have a culture that kids want to play for.

All things being equal I would say Spotsy would have a tough time winning that many games. BUT...since kids can pretty much go anywhere they want nowadays, they will most likely be pretty good in year 1 with Lunsford.

Lunsford does things the right way. It’s a shame that just because some coaches recruit, the stigma is just because you’re good and get a few transfers here and there that you do it to. That staff was 35-28 with Dinwiddie in the 4th quarter this past year with their star players playing with a bum shoulder and leg (Regar and Johnson). They’ve done more with nothing so you can only imagine what they’ll do with depth and community support.

They'll be good for sure. I doubt if many thought he would take KG where they got to when he started.

Varina is locked and loaded. Plus, I believe they added Bird's best returning skill kid and the St. Chris' RB.

Honestly with the element of surprise Spoty has a real chance to play spoiler in 4B. Why would you be surprised to see them win that many games? Just off of coaching alone they’ll win 2-3 more games than last year

Curious as to who their out of conference opponents will be. Assuming it won't be Lafayette/Brooke Point/Atlee like the last 2 years.

Oh you mean best team in state in Class 4 only. Right now on paper they’re the best team but they’ll have to show a lot of improvement from the game planning and in game play to really win it all.

What does Phoebus have coming back? More or less loaded than last year?
Rik Banks will be back with a whole new supporting cast. I expect the offense to take a big step forward because Banks has been putting in work and should have a great junior year. Keep him healthy and we should be back in Lynchburg to compete for ring. Defense will be the usual fast, athletic, and great tackling unit they always are.

The most important piece that is coming back is Jeremy Blunt. Rumors were flying that he was gone to bigger opportunities but he’s still the HC

The difference in Varina and a team like Phoebus or Maury is Varina thinks they can just show up and win. Their football and basketball teams made the state championship this year and both teams were severely unprepared. Talent only gets you but so far.

Definitely agree. With yall quarterback having so much experience already the offense should be humming.

With that said is anybody even close to being a real competitor in region A?
