4B in 2025

Varina looks good on paper but let’s be real. There’s absolutely no way everyone is going to be happy about touches. They already had two very good and offer hungry playmakers (Bre Bonner and Tre Rogers) before Sir Paul (will play more in the slot), Farley and this young man from Henrico transferred in. I see the transfer talk but have you seen Billy Mills and company in the weight room? Dinwiddie looks about as big and strong as I’ve ever seen them. Zion Boisseau is an absolute DUDE man. Coach Mills has A LOT to say about this region. Hearing many good things about Spotsy as well. They are averaging 60+ in the weight room and will have some dudes coming into that program. The gap between the 5 seed and 1 seed isn’t a gap at all.
I agree never count them out, Mills is one of the greatest coaches ever. But we do have to be honest with ourselves yes, these young man they have are good no slouches yes in they weight room they are good always has been their numbers this year isn’t like last year in the weight room from what I’m seeing and last year’s team in my opinion was better then this years team coming up. We can all say last year game between the two 6 put the team on his back take away his touchdowns who’s contributing to the scoring yeah we can say Boisseau and Adams wasn’t there but I do not believe that would have changed much you have to be able to score. Someone’s gonna have to do what he did and then some in order to beat this Varina team it’s a returning team with a great QB, great line on Offense and Defense, DPOTY, good secondary and a host of good running backs and one of the top WR in VA. Not saying it’s not possible but this team will have a lot cut out for themselves. Dinwiddie will do what they do at most lose two games I just don’t think they will last after that 2nd or 3rd game.

Dinwiddie played Varina and lost by two scores without their two best players outside of Harry Dalton. Both of them return this year plus everyone not named Harry Dalton. People kill me when they talk like this program was only good because of Harry. You think Duke isn’t going to be Duke next year because Cooper Flagg goes to the NBA? Next man up. I’ve been on record saying that I didn’t think Dinwiddie’s had size and depth to beat a KG or Varina in the past.. Hell they may be the deepest in C4 right now with the freshman class that’s coming up plus all they return.

Let’s not act like it’s ever a talent thing with Varina. They are always good and have more talent than <90% programs in C4 and C5. It’ll always be an Xs and O thing why they don’t have more ships.

They have good players never said they didn’t and it’s definitely about X’s and O’s not skill but what’s changing this year from last year? Varina just got better, and that score didn’t reflect what it should have really been if we have to be honest. A late touchdown at the end with seconds left it’s just not the same. By no means am I doubting Dinwiddie any given night they can win but we all can say this years team isn’t like last years team so how are we expecting them to just beat a better version of Varina from last year? We just have to wait and see honestly it’s definitely possible but it won’t be easy.

Why doesn't Varina run the I and throw play action deep?
From what I see they have elusive players, they don’t have power backs they wanna get their players in open field that’s why they big on spreading the field. The line is big but they don’t have that type of Running back I think this years running back room for them will be way better then last year’s with Sir Paul and the young man from Henrico. But these all are quick backs so they looking for open opportunities more then being in the I. Why switch up something that’s been working for them that’s their style.

I don’t want none of you to think I’m saying Dinwiddie is gonna be bad or anything like that because they are not. Like I said they have amazing talent I just think in this region out of the 5 teams Phoebus, Varina, Huguenot and Louisa. Dinwiddie is 3rd for sure at worst 4th. If Huguenot put some actual competition on their schedule they might have had a chance against a team like Dinwiddie but I give the edge to Dinwiddie. So my top teams out of five is Phoebus, Varina, Dinwiddie, Huguenot and Louisa in that order. Had to really do my homework on Louisa and Huguenot I see what people mean now about those two. Nothing bad but they face some challenges.

Varina is the favorite. They'll be my pre-season pick. As I've said the last 3 years, the defense is gonna show up and dominate. Richardson and Braylon Hood in the middle is going to be a nightmare next year. The offense has the horses to match but Varina's offense hasn't evolved since Stu Brown left. Luckily there will be enough talent that this mostly won't matter until probably the 2nd round. But seeing in past years Maury, Dinwiddie, HSHS, Varina with Stu brown calling plays, Freedom ect. putting up 45 points a game makes me have little faith in Varina's play callers with the level of talent that's been there. I agree with Bo somebody is going to be disappointed with their touches when they were expecting to have a bigger role this year.

I don't know if Dinwiddie will for sure be better overall next year, but I have a gut feeling the offense will better than last year with Boisseau at QB. That young man is a STUD.

This is all I was saying, Varina is definitely the preseason pick not saying anyone is bad they just have the most well rounded team if they stay healthy.

💯 @GoBlue2109

I’m wondering if Dinwiddie goes Wiggins at QB and let’s Zion do what he’s been doing with Harry? Can’t forget that Josh Adams will be back at RB.

Their early game against HSHS should be a good one. You got any insight what the Springers should like next year?

Only barber shop talk. Heard they had a kid or two follow the longtime JV coach to Trinity? I think they’ll still be good. If I had to bet a year that Glen Allen finally beats them, I’d put it all on this upcoming fall.

That is if they meet in the playoffs. 16 teams in Region 5C with Glen Allen, Hermitage, Springers, Matoaca all surely the favorites to take the region crown and I wouldn't count out Patrick Henry out of Roanoke or William Fleming to be in the mix again.

They’ll be better on both sides. The only question I have is the running game. Can’t become one dimensional against good teams that’s what bit us in the behind against Varina last year it’ll be a grind but Week 0 Dinwiddie will look totally different from Week 11 Dinwiddie. If they stay healthy this team could be special

I didn’t realize GA and HS were back in 5C. Sheeesh! I think Glen Allen is going to be damn good in Class 5.

Let’s start it up. The portal smoke is clearing up and 7 on 7’s start up in the next month. Going to be an insane year with Louisa coming down from 5C. Lots of story lines for 2025.

Can Huguenot get over the hump?

Is Varina the best team in the state?

How dangerous is Louisa?

Will 4B run through Dinwiddie again?

Is Spotsy the new power in the Battlefield?
Don't forget about Lafayette, if I'm not mistaken they're back in class 4 this year. They're always a tough out.
