Appo/Giles

Giles defense at Glenvar was much better than anticipated, especially in the secondary against the pass and inside the red zone. Bracketing our best WR the second half made it difficult to get back in the game. We shot ourselves in the foot on multiple occasions and our QB is much better than he played that night but I have to give Giles credit for causing much of that by good solid defense. Hope we are both around to play the Region C final. It would be another game for the ages.
I'd bet my paycheck you will be. I'm hopeful that we will be too.

I just hope for a great game and for us Raiders to come away with the W, I cant say good luck to thw Spartans cause I would be lying lol. What is luck anyway. Hope all the boys play good ball give the fans some jaw dropping moments and everyones stays safe and uninjured. LETS GOOOO !!! Friday Night 7PM Bragg Stadium....#BeatGiles #FA17H #OurGameHisGlory #PO1.

Giles is a solid team that thrives on controlling possession and keeping their opponent off of the field. This Giles team does not have a lot of talent. What they do have is good coaching, good lineplay and discipline and patience on offense. They are a tough matchup for any team they play.

Heard the horn is coming.

Hope we give them no reason to blow it.

I have no issue with Giles, in fact I enjoy watching their offense. But I can’t believe anyone would allow the horn in their stadium.

Here we go again. I hope he don't bring the horn, that way everyone can leave thier tissues at home. Did not see where Graves got hurt in last game so doubt that' true unless something happened in practice. I just hope for a good competitive game and no injuries for either team. Also that it don' take 8 hours to get there this time.

And what's pitiful is a fan base bitching and griping about a damn horn.....when you have one yourself....Damn groggy grow up and quit acting like a 5 year old

I agree that horn shouldn't be allowed. If you earned home field advantage then it should be treated as such...home..which means the opponent should not be allowed to bring props like that , however Giles bringing a horn should be the least of the Raiders' worries!

actually YOU ARE WRONG!!! They did use the horn every chance they got when we played them in playoffs of 2013. We had them on their heels and dude blew it non stop when we lined up, during cadence counts, in between plays, during plays. Appomattox was unprepared for it and no one warned us about it. We had several false starts due to players not hearing the QB ( I know that for a fact because I spoke to a TE that had 2 false starts saying he couldnt hear). Now maybe....yall can understand why it Appomattox fans despise your dang horn. We blow ours after a score...so dont make it look like we blow it during the game. Everyone that has a horn blows it appropriately except Giles.....

That' ridiculous, the horn is not used in that way. It' just a lame excuse u have came up with to to try and validate your crying. I wish all u guys from Appomattox would just focus on the game and what I think is two good teams getting ready to face off. I don't understand all the complaining about the horn from u fans. I mean u loved it so much when u came to Pearisburg in 2013 that u had one the very next year, how ironic.

Let them blow their horn. Gate City used to have a guy in a truck that blew a loud horn. They played at Powell Valley, (Bullit Park) and our police made him stop. That was wrong. Let the fans enjoy the game. They just want to have a rooting tooting good time.

Talk to your band director and have the band play the whole time Giles is on offense. Graham does all the time and no one has died from it. LoL!!!

Post the video then pal It's never used while u are in line of scrimmage. Biggest bunch of damn cry babies I've ever seen. Lol
LOL....wonder why the guy from Gretna cut the hose to that horn. I was there that night and it blew many times besides Giles scoring. Just leave the dang horn at home, it’s a home field advantage not a road prop.

Like I said, I don't know if it's true that Graves is out. But a guy I work with is an Appomattox guy,and claims Graves has a groin injury. I guess everyone will find out Friday.

Indeed. I'm not a huge fan of the horn actually, but I don't recall it being used during the cadence. We were loud AF during key plays and did force some false starts, but I don't remember the horn being used at that time. That sound you may have heard was the Giles county faithful, men, women, children, little old ladies, cheering our team. It probably sounded like a locomotive but it was just us Spartan fans.

I'd say the fact he was drunk for one had something to do with it. How do I know? I escorted his tail out. I'd say he was upset that they did not come up with the train horn and it hurt his feelings.

Grow up, man Im 39 and put my britches on one leg at a time just like you, my brother has been to Giles during a Playoff game years ago and was told they will blow the horn the whole time the opposing O come to the line until the play has snapped. If thats true thats poor sportsmanship. Yeah we got a pee wee horn and dont blow it unless a TD is scored, also the lil cannon fires. I heard yalls last year when yall was trying to blow it at our stadium until the police shut ya down and only was given permission to blow on TDs only, and couldnt even understand how to do that. So I know first hand how yall roll. If ya dont got ya 12th man thats not Appos fault. Come loud and proud. PLAY BALLLL !

FC went to Giles last week and it truly isn’t an issue. It’s not like it blows the entire game. Focus on football and you will never hear it.
Giles brought the horn to Bluefield this year when they played Graham. I didn't even realize it was in the stadium during the first half when Graham was up 21-7 but it blew an awful lot in the second half when Giles mounted a comeback. It's annoying for opposing fans but if you make Giles play bad you won't have to hear it too much lol

Hey I got it here ! Most of Appos offense is not going to play ! Now that's something for all you Giles to people to talk about on that 7 or 8 hr ride !! Geezz
To bad for Appo, they will need all thier horses. Stabler does it not seem a bit ridiculous to u that the damn horn keeps coming up from Appo fans. Was not a factor last year nor will it be this year. If I was Appo fan I'd be talking about how darn good we are, losing one game in three years. Great team with great athletes and don't care where u are from. What they have done is not common. Shame u can't talk football and about the game because of a few air blowers.

Lol, I would actually like to meet some of u Appo fans in person Friday night. I'd bet u are not nearly the A-Holes in person as u appear to be on this board!!
Whoever said we was A-Holes but u, Im surely not one, one of the nicest Man of God ya ever want to meet. But I dont get treaded on and I speak my mind in the proper ways. Just because Im a loyal follower of Christ doesnt mean I will turn both cheeks. Ya know. Just hoping for a great game. God Bless
