Someone I watched the game with said they thought that Tuesday's crowd at Sherando for its Region II quarterfinal against Loudoun Valley might have been the biggest ever seen on that diamond's 19-season history (remember, Coach M, they played at Sherando Park back in '94).

All I know is I had to park in the lower lot down from the field (near the practice football field). I've maybe done that once before.

Thursday's semifinals:

Powhatan at Sherando
Woodgrove at Potomac Falls (How about those Wolverines catching steam lately? Another road-Warrior team in the playoffs, like Monticello last season, perhaps?)

Probably so BUT not biggest crowd to watch a Sherando game. That happened when they had that Warren County/Sherando special playoff game at The Hott at Jimmy Wood back in 2006.

That too, was an Instant Classic, bro.

Woodgrove swinging the sticks, aren't they? How about Coach Bauder getting some love after he had to remove seven players at midseason due to violation of team rules and making what he has left into a squad that is one win away from going to the state playoffs. Pot Falls better beware!

were they removed or suspended? either way, kudos to him and Woodgrove, in this day and age it's tough to do with the appeal process that most families are afforded... but once the bad apples are gone it usually pays off in everyone else appreciating their place on the team more and rising to the occasion...I have to say with Sherando's 13 inning game, things are setting up nicely for the reigning champs
