Against Varina or a Hayfield they don’t look like this. Still a great team, but not the same results. I was impressed by how unselfish JM played and the quality of contribution top to bottom. On another note, can we get a Tournament of State Champions in VA, Prep v Public? Both Girls and Boys. I’ll pay a premium for it.

If JR had at least 3 shooters hot from outside maybe a closer game? but we’ll never know. Radford came out on top when it mattered. Still 2 teams in top 4 of the state from same district says a lot. Either way the three rivers wound up in the finals representing region C.

JR would've had the same issues Radford had. JM was relentless on defense with better athletes. Radford was already tired both mentally and physically by halftime. Radford also could not get back in transition. JR exposed that some during the season but JM took it to a whole new level. JM hit 6-7 3s in 2nd qtr which opened it up and the race was on from there.
No one expected Radford to make it this far including me so I'm super proud of these kids and coaches. Mostly sophomores so looks like a chance to run for 2nd for 2 more years at least.

Congrats to JM. Congrats to my Bobcats on a great season. I didn't think we were anything close to making it to a state title game early in the season. I think this year, one could make an argument that the best 3 Class 2 teams in the state came from the same region in John Marshall, Greensville County, and Thomas Jefferson. There were 7 teams all very close and arguably the 2nd best team in the state in (Union, Radford, James River, East Rockingham, Central Woodstock, Greensville County and Nottoway.) But, I think Greensville County and Thomas Jefferson (who was unfortunate enough to play JM in the region semifinals) were slightly the 2nd and 3rd best teams this year. Can't be sure though. I'm proud of Radford. Great effort by your kids and incredible coaching job by Cormany.
