Huge win for Lancaster - 1st win over W&L in like 6 years. Heard they partied like it was 1999! Congrats to them!

2017 Conference 43/NND Boys Soccer may turn out to be the most competitive overall it has been in a decade or more.

W&L is still a 2A but returns to 1A next year where they belong. W&L recently just beat Conference 43 leader Rapp-Warsaw 2-0, handing the Raiders their only loss.

W&L also just barely lost to soccer powerhouse Northampton 4-3 after having the lead for most of the match.

Rapp-Warsaw (7-1) last week beat Essex 1-0 at home in a weather shortened game. Essex had recently beaten LHS 2-0 in a close one.

Now the boys in green from Northumberland recently lost to Essex in Tappahannock in OT. Essex Senior star Alden McKinley scored on two beautiful free kicks and added two assists to defeat the Indians in overtime.

NHS had banged a PK off the crossbar during regulation to prevent them from having the victory. 1st time since 2012 that Essex did not slaughter rule NHS.

Rapp County (also in conference 43, but plays in the powerful Bull Run District) lost to Northumberland twice this season 3-2 and 2-0.

Conference 43 standings (that I know of, correct standings as needed)

Rapp-Warsaw 2-1 (including W&L, or 2-0 in 43)
Essex 2-1 (loss to Rapp-Warsaw 1-0)
Northumberland 2-1 (loss to Essex in OT)
2A W&L 1-1 (yes I know they are not in 43 but they still reside in the NND)
Lancaster 1-2 (defeated W&L who for now is in 2A)
Rapp County 0-2

Lots of NND/43 action left! May looks to be quite busy.

At this point in the season, my Conference 43 POY nominees would be Senior Chris Fols - Rapp-Warsaw, Senior Alden McKinley - Essex (others may be Rett Hillman -Rapp-Warsaw and Sr. Tri Blanks from Essex, I think they are all seniors).
