Brunswick survived a close call on the road tonight, beating Surry 64-58. This ends the regular season with Brunswick and Greensville 15-1. Our top guard, Jakal Williams, was injured tonight and the freshmen center is no longer on the team.

One game playoff Friday night at Southampton (details TBA). Congratulations Bulldogs on another district title (at least 9 or 10 in a row).

GO BULLDOGS!

What is the prognosis on Williams? He is an outstanding PG & athlete.

Brunswick and Greensville split games in the regular season, so they are co-champions. If they are having a playoff game on Friday, then is this to determine who will be the outright regular season champions? Word is the two schools are having a "one game district tournament." Not sure how a one game classifies as a tournament. Is the one game playoff to determine who the regular season also going to count as the TRD tournament champions? If so, then that is very questionable.

The only thing that I heard at the game last night was that, since seeding for conference is based on points, the playoff was necessary to determine first and second place in the district regular season. I don't think TRD is having a district tournament. Will post additional information if I get further clarification. Like last year, this is another example of VHSL not providing leadership to the conference procedures. Every conference is doing something different, which can cause inequities.

Did Conference 34 go to a points system this year for basketball? Last year it was not done by points.

I agree, each conference is done differently and all should be done the same way.
