Is East Rock/ Bluestone still a go for tonight?
The VHSL bracket has it listed for tonight, but I was thinking all the round 1 games had to be completed before round 2 games could begin.

Bluestone is undefeated while East Rock's losses have come against pretty good 3A schools (TA, Spotswood, and Stuarts Draft--who at times showed they could compete with anybody) and a hot Wilson team in the conference tourney.
I don't know a whole lot about Bluestone's competition but do not be too surprised at an East Rock upset tonight (but it could very easily be a bluestone blowout as basketball is such a hot-and-cold game to predict). When I made my original final 4 predictions, I felt that East Rock would push Bluestone (then Bluestone proceeded to crush their 1st round opponent)--and that they had the recent program history/success to upset an undefeated squad. I didn't think we would have an all 1 seed final 4 in the east, and I feel confident that Wilson and Clarke will make the final four but I don't feel as confident in the other 1 seeds. The only reason I don't have full confidence in Bluestone making the final 4 is because of them drawing East Rock, if they were to have drawn Lee in the 2nd round, my thoughts would be different, but with all that being said they may come out tonight and kick some tail and make my bold prediction look silly.

The Bluestone girls are 22-0 and have outscored opponents 1262-642 on the year. They are led by the James River District and Conference 34 POY, who is already receiving interest from William & Mary, Radford, and UNC Wilmington. They are a very talented group of 7, who go by the monicker of "7 Strong." They did add a few JV players, from a 17-1 team, once their season ended. It should be an exciting game. Maybe the long travel will offset East Rocks experience. However, if I am not mistaken...I believe the Bluestone girls made it to regions last year as well.

Two good teams going at it, I wish I could watch it tonight.
I think East Rock beat Bluestone last year in this same round by a score of 67-51, then went on to beat Luray, before getting blown out by Brunswick in the 2a east championship (and then another blowout loss to Gate City)

Page Co. took the Rock right down to the wire last week....after being down 17 pts in 3rd, Page kept chipping away and if not for a last second buzzer beater(literally) Page would be making that trip...this East Rock team isn't as good as some from previous yrs, and Page could've beaten 'em during the reg. season, but, both times, Page just didnt show up to play...I have no clue about what kinda team Bluestone has,,but, the trip down there won't be any help for the Lady Eagles, who's coach is one if not the best in 2A...just hope for East Rock victory
