Norfolk Academy converted a 2-point pass to defeat Trinity Episcopal 22-21 on Friday afternoon to remain undefeated. It was the third straight win in this series for Norfolk Academy. Sophomore quarterback Christian Randolph passed for 78 yards and a touchdown while Michael Frazier had 73 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Trailing by eight points with 3:51 remaining in the 4th quarter, Randolph led the Bulldogs on a 64-play drive that included going 3 of 3 passing for 42 yards. Morgan Wentz ended the drive with a 6-yard run up the middle to pull Norfolk Academy to within one 21-20.
The Bulldogs, who did not try an extra point kick on their previous two touchdowns, went for the win and took a 1-point lead when Randolph scrambled around and connected with a wide open Campbell Pozin for the lead.
Trinity Episcopal still had 1:56 remaining on the clock with three timeouts but Norfolk Academy was able to stop the Titans on downs to end the game. An apparent 66-yard touchdown pass from Blake Bowen to Tommy Deustch was nullified after Trinity Episcopal was called for a block in the back penalty.
