The gameplan worked 23-6.Not sure what the game plan was cause he was consistently getting open, Kaleb just missed him everytime
Consistently is a stretch. Was 2-3 times and he threw up prayers each time lolNot sure what the game plan was cause he was consistently getting open, Kaleb just missed him everytime
Was it acceptable to put that young man back in the game?If Varina had a real offensive system they could've won this game. Same story. Phoebus was the more discipline team and that's how you win at this level. Just hope Wyche avoided a major injury. That's my only concern at this point. Congrats Phoebus.
I can see why Varina's fans thought they would score more today. Against weaker run defenses than Phoebus you could be fooled into thinking that would eat up big chunks of yards against every team they face. I could ask my question again since no Blue Devils fan really answered it. If Varina lost to the Indian River Braves in double overtime giving up 30+ points what in the world makes you believe they will last 4 quarters against Phoebus and win? I don't have proof on me right now but please believe me, the Phoebus Phantoms and the Indian River Braves are not the same teams. The last time the Braves could play with Phoebus it was 2003 or 04. 20 years ago.Congrats Varina. You guys are very tough. Yall played well. I hope the qb is OK. Nothing to be ashamed of. Hats off to Phoebus. They did pretty good for a team that folks said didn't play nobody. The difference of this game was Phoebus experience and the qb for Varina getting hurt.
I agree with this statement but it was the first game of the season and I truly believe if they played 3-4 games into the season that would likely be a different outcome. Definitely not taking anything away from Phoebus because they clearly were the better team.I can see why Varina's fans thought they would score more today. 100% not but he appears to be a gritty kid and wish nothing but the best for him.Was it acceptable to put that young man back in the game?
He’s also the starting PG on a state championship caliber basketball team. Hope it’s just a high ankle sprain…I agree with this statement but it was the first game of the season and I truly believe if they played 3-4 games into the season that would likely be a different outcome. I hope the Wyche injury isn’t what we all expect it to be because that could have ramifications into next season.
He definitely planted wrong going in for a slide. He’s also the starting PG on a state championship caliber basketball team. Hope it’s just a high ankle sprain…
Those 5 pm starts at Liberty are ridiculous for teams from the east half of the state. VHSL needs to start all like the semi finals at 1-2 pm. Just add a few more sites. But VHSL isn’t staffed by high IQ people.Phoebus finally made it back home just before 1:30am
I wish they had TBD sites because having teams from Hampton and Richmond drive to Lynchburg to play is dumb. Those 5 pm starts at Liberty are ridiculous for teams from the east half of the state. Yeah man his right leg buckledHe definitely planted wrong going in for a slide.
Not at all. I was pretty disappointed they let him come back in the game. Coach gotta take control of that situation. Was it acceptable to put that young man back in the game?
