Classification changes for 2019

What teams are moviong out of 2a next year? I'm hearing rumors and i dont like believing in rumors. Please post what you know as fact.

George Mason and Central (Woodstock) are moving up to 3A.

This is the proposed alignment table for next cycle. Grayson Co is dropping to 1A. Wilson Memorial, Goochland Central(Woodstock) and Maggie Walker going to 3A. Alleghany and Patrick Co dropped to 2A. Could be others as I'm not intimately familiar with every region.

Has Appo's enrollment grown? Because that's the only reason they would move up.

Unless they have gained enough students to move up to 3A they will remain in 2A, it's based on number of students not performance on the field.

I'm guessing that Region B 2A has only 11 teams because of geography...but as HR6 has pointed out numerous times, the VHSL's knowledge of geography is a bit wanton.

Edit: Just read that 3 former teams in this region moved up to 3A. Guess that explains it. But I thought Nelson might be in this region.
