Coach Ron Axselle cruised to a win over Coach Phillips with 100% of the vote and then knocked out Coach Jarvis with 80% of the vote.
Coach Patrick Kane got by Coach Pritchard with 77% of the vote and then outvoted Coach Allen with 66% of the vote.
Every Mills Godwin coach will be measured against the legendary Ron Axselle. Axselle was the first coach of the Godwin Eagles beginning in 1981 and taking him them into the 21st century before retiring in 2004. When Coach Axselle called it a career he finished with a mark of 161-92-1. In 24 seasons Coach Axselle led the Eagles to two region titles in 1984 and 1988. In 24 seasons the Eagles had 17 winning seasons and 10 playoff appearances with a mark of 7-10.
Patrick Kane first popped on the scene in the Richmond Region at Dinwiddie from 1996-1997 and then took over at Hermitage in 2001 and found instant success. In 17 seasons Kane never had a losing season and guided the Panthers to 13 playoff appearances including a Class 6 State Final appearance in 2010. In 13 appearances Kane's Panthers were 17-13 adding to an impressive record of 175-44!
The two met four times and split 2-2.
