congratulations to the phantoms they were awesome and i dont think i was that far off suggesting they could play with maury. thats my opinion and i dont want to hear any of your opinions on that because your opinions on several games were off. and pls stop being faddish calling it a chip its a championship those kids worked hard for it and you trying to be cool or to lazy to spell it out is demeaning. you guys are for real phoebus i enjoy your styles.

Yes, the game was great up until the Varina Quarterback injury

Yes, Phoebus continues to prove they are winners, well coached and talented. At no time did they appear shaken.

But...

Some non-football talk for a moment.

How about that Phoebus band? Wow! And Varina 's band sounded good as well.

But Phoebus? Gotta love it. My head was bobbing during that whole set and mine wasn't the only head doing that on the Varina side.

And during this time of year where we are lucky to see bands even travel let alone dress out and perform, we were lucky to get the full performance at the Half. Bonus points for dropping that Travis Scott track. So entertaining.

Anyways, I'm finally back home and I'm thawing out. Definitely sleeping in tomorrow.

For the size of Phoebus' band they were coming thru loud and clear at the half. Great performance. It was a great overall atmosphere. Run it back!

So Bo you’ve had time to digest the game I’m assuming. I just really want your take on what happened yesterday. Do you still think Carter is the best WR in state? He was a complete non factor and the one catch he had he got lit up. Do you still think Varina has best dline in state? Why was Varina’s gameplan to come out and try and bully Phoebus? The Varina coaches talking trash to Phoebus players before the game was a terrible idea. Cussing at kids and calling them out their name then following it with “I’m grown” and “I’m a man” was just stupid. Might be time to reevaluate that coaching staff and get rid of the goofys. Even the fans at the end of the game was poppin off at us literally trying to create tension.

Also please provide an update about Wyche’s injury when you can. I had a group of fans in a prayer circle for the young man. Never want to see that especially non contact injuries. I love his heart trying to come back out there but one hit could’ve really done way more hurt.

Thought the Varina gameplan hierarchy was bully ball.. That didn’t work out the gate so they resorted to throwing the deep ball on every play .. When Wyche wasn’t hitting D1, the coaches ran Wyche wayyy too much and ended up stalling drives. Wyche was Varina’s only offense last night. They had absolutely no gameplan after those 3 things failed.

You are 100% about the Varina adults behavior and that’s very unfortunate. Thought Varina had the best resume of any team playing yesterday outside of Maury (they beat some really good football teams to make the big game). The same bull jive Huguenot tried to pull just three weeks ago and got their azz beat, was the same thing the Varina staff thought “hey this is a good idea”.. Make it make sense. It’s 20+ coaches on Varina’s sidelines (I’m not even being sarcastic or funny) and most think they’re qualified because they played there. I was telling a HC at another program this week that I had 100% faith in the kids, but not so much in the adults.. Meant that and stand on it. They got some good dudes on that staff but many lames too.

D1 had a bad game. Couldn’t help the arrant passes, not getting the ball on sweeps/wildcat formation, and being doubled on every play. D1 is my guy, but he can’t lose his composure like he did last night. He’s a big time player and he’s gonna have bad games. Personal fouls gotta stop next year. He’s the best WR in the state and he’ll continue to prove it. He’s a great kid, even better athlete 💯

It’s unfortunate when the adults ruin it for the kids. I’m just confused about the bully technique against a team that has over powered teams for years. I could tell just from the pregame stuff that Phoebus would win because they were locked in and not concerned with proving anything but winning the game.

And wow you gave the realist response ever. Varina folks are claiming we only won because of the Wyche injury and i see we agree that Phoebus had the game won at 9-6 already. I just don’t get why they didn’t have the backup prepared at all. Both QBs that came in looked like they were new to the team.

Carter is a player. Idk if he is the best wr in the state but he is definitely up there. Varina relied too much on Wyche and Carter. #5 had positive plays and so did #1 but they didn't get enough touches. Because of that Phoebus doubled Carter and spied Wyche. Really it's how #4 caught the td but they didn't go back to him or target other players.

All week I was saying Phoebus experience would be the difference. Varina had over 100 yards in penalties. You can't win games against great teams like that. Also, Varina needs to develop a kicking game so when they get close they can still come away with points. Phoebus was stopped multiple times near the red zone by Varina but still ended up winning 23 - 6. Another thing is adjustments. Phoebus coaches did a better job after halftime. Varina didn't change. As talented as Varina's front and second level is Phoebus eventually wore them down with the run game but hats off to them for a great season. I think Varina will be back and this experience will only help them on the top stage when playing against an experience elite program.
