The VHSL state cross country championships for Classes 4, 5, and 6 were held on Saturday, November 16 at Great Meadow Park in The Plains. The Loudoun Valley Vikings swept the boys and girls Class 4 team and individual titles. The LV boys missed a perfect score of 15 by only two points, far outpacing runner-up Grafton 17-86. Class 4 newcomer Lee-Davis took third. For the Viking boys, the team championship was their fifth consecutive in 4A/Class 4. The Loudoun Valley girls won their second state crown in a row, finishing “only” 23 points ahead of second-place Blacksburg. Millbrook took the third-place trophy.
As for the individual honors, LV’s Carlos Schultz and Ava Gordon each broke the tape to lead their squads to titles.
All hail the victorious Vikings!
