Dan River moved to 1-1 with a 24-20 victory over Bassett on Friday night. The Wildcats scored all 24 of their points including a 70 yard interception return by sophomore Robert Carter. Carter also had a TD reception, while Tra Womack ran for a score and kicker Ethan Lewis nailed a 35 yard field goal.
The Bengals rallied in the fourth as DR let off the gas in the second half. Bassett scored 20 points in the 4th and got the ball back with 27 seconds left, but inside their own 20 after a 51 yard punt by Lewis.
