Essex vs. KW Battle of 360

These two teams haven’t played the last two years but is always a great game. KW is still riding that state championship high, Essex always has size and a lot of skilled position players. Will Todd Jones have his electrifying Trojan's ready for Scott Moores reining 2A state champs this Friday night? It’s going to be a physical and exciting game. I have KW winning by two scores. Anyone else have thoughts?

Both teams are very physical. I think defensively, KW might be better than last year. Offensively, you don't replace a Demond Claiborne, but they're using a bevy of backs. I absolutely love the line play of KW on both sides. Great size and they play with an attitude. Essex is loaded with weapons though and their QB has looked pretty good thus far, but is taking a big step up in competition this week. In a game like this, turnovers always will play a big role. I wouldn't be surprised if this is more of a defensive game than most might be expecting. Still gotta go with KW though, but Essex will be right there for 4 quarters.

Essex’s is undersized on the lines compared to past years, BUT…they are faster there. Both have good skilled positions, QB’s. Essex D is fast and fly to the ball. In the trenches is where King William has the size advantage. We’ll see if the faster Trojan lineman can neutralize that size.

This will be Essex’s 1st big test. KW has been test by Goochland. The 2 games Essex has played, neither were on the level of Goochland. Should be a packed house Friday. Let’s go TROJANS!!!!

I always look forward to a good KW Essex battle! Both teams always seem to step up their play during this game! Hope it’s a great crowd and both teams stay healthy!!

I don’t believe King William has online ticket sales. It’s just Essex home games in this neck of the woods. Maybe @KWcavs360 or @kwhs95fan can better answer this.

Purchase tickets at the gate. I’m not a huge fan of not having online ticket sales this year. The first game the line was backed up to the church across the street at the opening kickoff.

Not a problem, I was surprised as well. Opening kickoff vs goochland about a 1/3 of the stands were full. I looked at the gate and the line was huge. It’s also cash only, they do not take cards either.
