Final: Tazewell 245, Graham 185

Graham only has a starting o-line. You missed the part where they don’t even have enough for a JV. Starting o-line are backups for d-line, starting d-line are backups for o-line. Graham doesn’t even have a back up QB. They have two that start, one primarily passes & the other works out of Wildcat and primarily runs it. There isn’t a 3rd string QB to put in. No one is making excuses but to imply Graham left all the starters in to run up the score isn’t accurate. Tony Palmer has never been known for running up the score. He normally pulls as many starters as possible in a blowout even when opposing teams don’t.
Fair enough point about the backups.

But then you said he has never been known for running up the score.

But other folks have said in this thread that they made attempts to score more points in the last moments of the last two games, with both scores being well in hand.

And we’ve already talked about the onside kicks in the 4th quarter on a running clock.

It’s crazy how different people see things different ways. Maybe you’re too close to the situation to see it for what it really is?

Maybe you want to discredit me because you think I’m coming down to hard on Graham/Coach Palmer.

Either way is fine.

I only started replying because I appreciated GHS87’s reply. I agreed with most of what he said. If he can see what he has seen & said what he said, we all can.

if you don’t want to, that’s fine. We can all agree to disagree on what is the best way handle our selves and the youth.

You missed the part about taking a knee. If you are up 30 on a team you have beaten easily over the past several years why try to score another touchdown? Does it matter if the starters or the 2nd string is in? This is just one example of why others don't care for Graham or their antics.

I didn’t miss the part about taking a knee. It probably does matter to a kid who works his butt off in practice but doesn’t start or get to play much who’s a Senior. It happens in other games with other teams everywhere in the United States, the score can get lopsided even with 2nd string in the game. Some teams are just better than their opponents. I don’t begrudge any kid on any team that works their butt off to have an opportunity to score a TD when that kid rarely sees playing time. It’s like going to work everyday and finally getting a paycheck. So yes, we’ll agree to disagree on the Pulaski game.

I’m not defending anything from Tazewell game. That was a mess on both sides.

Penalty yards might be some kind of record. 21 penalties on Tazewell and 19 for Graham for a total of 40. Several offsetting penalties not even in the above total. Tazewell with 245 penalty yards to Grahams 185.

Final score: Graham 46, Tazewell 0

Does anybody know how to get approved on that SWVA SPORTS SITE ?? I signed up but it has been “pending approval “ for 3 months — anybody know the admin ?

He also had the tazewell kids chop block all night going at the knees of our defensive line. Shouldn't expect a little league Coach that graduated to the high school level to have any class.
Chop block or cut block? Two totally different things. Chop blocks are illegal, that's when someone is engaged with a defender on the LOS and another player cuts this legs out. Cut blocks are legal and when the O-lineman cuts the legs out from underneath the defender he is engaging. One legal the other illegal, but completely different.

Whatever you want to call 2 different linemen each grabbing and holding on to a different leg of the same defensive lineman.

Yeah but that was after they both dove straight for each knee. Only reason he didn't get hurt was because of a defensive reaction backing up. It's on film tape doesn't lie.
Nothing illegal with diving at the knees. Holding on afterwards, yes. But that is just an old fashion cut block that you are talking about. You can only cut block players that start on the LOS. Can't cut block in high school down field like you can in college. Also the players doing the cut block must start on the LOS and can be no wider than the tight end.

Very good explanation of the rule.
