The only thing I've found yet says the game will be Saturday at 2 can anyone confirm this? Should be a good game, as I said in another thread Galax will have to play better on offense than they have the last couple of weeks if they want to go out there and get the win. Their defense has looked pretty good other than a few missed assignments, they held a good back in Justice to under 60 yards last week if I'm not mistaken. If Galax plays like they're are capable of I think they can go out there and get the win. Hopefully Galax can play great on offense, defense and special teams and get another victory this weekend.

MT FAN, you are right, Radford will have to travel........#4 seed in WD1. So if Galax can pull this thing out withJIB, and Radford wins at GW, then your take is right, unless we are both wrong. Those will be 2 great games. Burton is solid. The only thing is the competition they played is not the same as Galax. As it was said, the strongest team was Union, and we know what Union did to them. Union is THE best D2W team in SWVA, and I am sure Burton has improved since game 1. I am still trying to decide which one to go with.
Why is that? Just throwing this out there but if Galax and Radford both win Galax will be the best remaining seed which means they would get a home game.( I think) and if Essex and Riverheads win Radford would go to Essex and Riverheads to Galax. That's the way I understand it but I might be wrong. Some of the other guys on here probably know more about this than me and can clarify this.

They cross bracket for Semis, so the lower seed in the west visits the higher seed in the east and vice versa, its not double elimination from here on out, if you lose you're out. The way it's been ever since they started the 16 team playoff.
The only way Radford and Galax will see each other is if they win this week and then next week in the semis, they would see each other in the Final in Salem. It's the only way you can have a all West or East final.
Yeah that's what I thought, I'm just saying Galax would get another home playoff game if Galax and Radford both advance after this week.
Galax at Burton is shaping up to be a classic playoff game. I have seen Burton play , but not Galax. I will say this, and will say it again. Burton has the largest Offensive line that it have seen. The thing is Burton is not only blessed with size, but those big ole boys can run too. Put that with a good QB and 3good backs, and you got a pretty good ball team.
To be successful against Burton, Galax will need to control the ball and make 1st downs. I don't think that Burton has seen talent like Galax is bringing to Norton. Yes, Union put it on Burton in that first game, but since, Burton has been rolling. Galax will have to bring their A game, and block and tackle, and don't let Burton eat the clock. No question that strength of schedule goes to Galax, which will help. As for my pick, well it is going to be a good one, but just by what I have read about Galax, I am picking Galax by 2.

Saw the RR-JIB game.....score was 14-6 with under 4 mins to go in the game. JIB had 3rd and 5 from inside RR 40....2 dead ball personal fouls later it was JIB 1st and 10 inside the 10. Total yards was probably JIB 270 RR 250....several penalties from both sides. JIB is huge - 3 OL/DL over 300 pounds - and they are fairly physical. From sounds of it, Galax matches up well.
Special teams will be big in this game. IMO especially the punt and punt return because I see a defensive battle.
Sounds like RR give them all they wanted untill about 4 minutes to go, RR is a good football team so that doesn't surprise me. Hoping Galax gives them more than they want and comes away victorious. Should be a tough hard hitting game and if Galax shows up and limits the mistakes and penalties I think they can go to coalfield country and get a win which isn't easily done.
I was not impressed with Burton. Not making any excuses here but RR did not play nearly as well as they did against GW or Galax. I look for Galax to have their way Saturday, and if not i will be VERY surprised.
I heard somebody got ejected in the JIB. Vs. RR game. Which team? IF Burton will it hurt? Kid having to set out next game.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what Galax is going to do so kudos to you Phil.... Lol. But you still have to line up and stop it and I don't think Galax was trying to show much when they played Grayson. The mediocre secondary didn't have much trouble with Grayson's prolific passing attack but maybe Grayson wasn't trying to show much against them.
What Galax does they do very well. Galax has an excellent coach who has plenty of time during the week to break you down. His background has ALOT to do with how he watches film and explains it to the kids. The players are where they need to be on every play. Play calling was what killed Grayson always does. And yes we had almost 300 passing yards on them. One receiver who you know had over 200 even with double coverage. I have watched Galax for years even before I had any one on the team. Galax coach makes all the difference in the team. They might win this week but if they make it to the state it just proves the point that all D1 is weak.
I don't recall anyone saying it wasn't coaching that has Galax where it is, we have a great coach but you still have to have players to carry out your game plan. Grayson should've had a lot of passing yards being that's bout all they did and a lot of those yards come on a few big plays and when a lot of freshmen were playing. You might think 1a is weak but I would about bet all the teams left in the playoffs would smoke Grayson.

One big play that scored was the only big play when scrubs were in. That's all. Galax didn't have any one player to match up with Graysons no.1 receiver. They even tried a double team with Harris...didn't work. Not a super athletic team just very very well coached.
This guy kills me everytime and I don't even live in Galax haha. I would take good coaching and a few good players over a team full of good players and mediocre coaching every single day. No doubt. Coaching at any level is what wins ball games.
As far as your boy, Grayson's stud receiver. Never seen the kid play. Hope he does well and gets to play at the next level. Too many talented kids come out of this area only to return when they face a bit of adversity or home sickness. Best of luck to him.

As for gloating uh no.. Had more than one local team ask for a transfer. Even a d4 team in NC. I have paid alot of money for that kid to be what he is and his work ethic is unbelievable. Also I have a little 5-8 senior db from Florida to thank also. As an 8th grader we were at a skills camp and he wore him out and lit a fire. As for coaching I'll agree with all you said on that it is gospel. One thing about me is I'm give my honest opinion on everything sometimes to fault. I know how break.down film and to give constructive criticism. Just trying to keep it real.
Was a kid from RR because of JIB's coaching staff talking trash to the RR players while on the field. The kid started jawing back and they threw two back to back flags on him. This game ended very ugly and with their coach having to have a police escort off the field and at least one Burton fan taking home a NDN @$$ whoopin for his cheap shot on a RR fan.
