Giles wins 2A state golf championship

Giles wins by 13 strokes over 2nd place Randolph Henry. Congrats to Giles. And hey I know this board usually discusses football only but it is a Fall Sports forum! Blacksburg won 3A and George Wythe won 1A so 3 of the 6 champions are from SWVA.

Congrats Giles, appo won it 2014 and came close last year. we struggled this year...

I'm probably going to get shot for this, but is this Giles' first non-football state championship? Unlike our rival Radford, we aren't strong across the board in all sports and don't field teams in some Olympic sports. And, we played AA, which is now 3A/4A, for many years. We've had some excellent baseball players, but I don't think they ever won a championship. I want to be wrong on this.
