FACTS: The Region 4D championship feels more like a state title game. Top-seeded Blacksburg is on a tear, having won 12 straight and 27 of its last 30. It's a monumental task set before No. 2 E.C. Glass, but this is a matchup that people anticipated all season. The Hilltoppers put together another dominant performance last week, scoring almost at will against Jefferson Forest. Glass backup running back Quoterrus Craighead provided a big boost last week, rushing for 117 yards. His rise to a reliable ball carrier gives Glass a three-pronged rushing attack that's led by running back Ty Foster and quarterback DreSean Kendrick. Three speedy carriers are enough to cause any team concern. Kendrick has rushed for 1,417 yards and passed for another 899. Foster has 1,135 rushing yards to his credit. Blacksburg also can't afford to leave Hilltoppers receivers alone in the open field. Mac Johnson, Justin Barnett and Warren Horsley are game-changers when they get their hands on the ball. Blacksburg enters allowing 11.8 points per game and scoring 34.5 per contest. Glass, meanwhile, allows 14.4 points per game and has scored a whopping 41.5 per outing. Glass has been a favorite for the Class 4 state championship all season. It can take a big step toward that goal with a victory tonight.
