Congrats to all the Region Champs and runners up. One of you will be the "true" 2A state champion. Unfortunately, we will not know who that is...
The crazy thing is without JM, class 2 would be so wide open this year. Any of the other 7 teams in the state tournament could beat the other on any given night, plus there's some other good teams like Wise, Gretna, Dan River, Bruton etc, who didn't even make it to the state tournament.
I think the difference tonight was Graham got off to a strong start, rebounded better than normal, instead of throwing up 3s all game , they drove to basket ,got guys open underneath . and actually played pretty decent defense. The got momentum early and basically kept it the majority of the game. Probably one of the best games they’ve played all season.

Not true. Football teams do it all the time. Nelson County and Stonewall Jackson are 2 that I know have done it recently. Stonewall Jackson is still doing it. They are in the Bull Run District for all sports except football. They played 10 games (only played 1 Bull Run team) but not eligible for VHSL postseason play.
Bland County played an independent schedule in football but all other sports played regular district schedule so yeah, it’s possible. JM basketball doesn’t want to do that I guess.
They want that guaranteed trophy to feel good about themselves. These small 2A schools don't have a chance. They recruit nationally.... It's Bull Crap.
B-I-N-G-O , they want that trophy. Choosing to compete against teams nowhere near your competition level makes no sense if the goal is to get better and challenge yourselves.
