Springernation, Greg, his family and Wake Forest University, would like to ask for your prayers and positive thoughts for this fine young man and "electric" football player!
He suffered a season ending abdominal injury that required emergency surgery last night.
We pray for a quick and complete recovery!
Greg had a record breaking game yesterday v Louisville! He cought 4 td passes and had over 200 all purpose yards in the Deacons win over the Cardinals!
Louisville "Got Dortched" yesterday! The State of Va new who he was by the end of the Springers' first State Title run, now the entire country knows this young man is the real deal!

Keep us updated on his progress please, Springer. I pray for his family as well as him, as I know how concerned they must be. He is their child first, football is a distant second.

Get well soon Greg.

Dortch is the Deacons’ leading receiver this year with 53 catches for 722 yards and nine touchdowns in eight games. He had 100-yard receiving games in three of the last four games and leads the nation’s freshmen in receptions, receiving yards and receiving yards per game (90.3). The Richmond, Va., native leads all freshmen in all-purpose yards (1,290), as he gave Wake Forest a valuable asset in the kick and punt return games.

@springer what was the injury?
Abdominal ... at first they did't know the severity so he kept playing, scored 2 more tds! Then started feeling sick.
It turned out, he had ruptured his spleen. He went to the hospital in critical condition and did emergency surgery. Very scary!
Update this morning is, he slelt all day yesterday, and feels better this morning! He is in stable condition.

Although he was the enemy during the State game against Stone Bridge we were cheering for him during this game. He was amazing. So scary to hear about his injury. Hoping all will turn out well. He's a great player.
Thanks! We can be the enemy on the field, but away from the game, we should all be friends! I check the SB scores weekly! Looking for video too! Hard to find current ones though!
Good luck to you guys the rezt of the way. I hope we get to have another classic with you guys!

We were watching Mekhi Becton too. Played against him last year. He's huge! Seems like a nice kid though. My son talked with him on twitter after his Louisville offer. It's nice to see your guys playing in college. Now we know why you were always so good although we should have had you last year! There's not much video on us since Mickey keeps it private until the end of the season. Likes to keep you all guessing. Hope we get to match up again this year. Would love to see how it goes since this is our last year and my son played in the prior two games. Hated Hampton stadium though. It was much better at UVA. You guys had some crazy tailgates.

UVA was much better! We tailgate everywhere!!!
Our big gam Friday vs Varina starts at 4 pm with tailgate party across the street from the field ( on our practice field). Varina is invited too! It's always interesting! Lots of food, "cheer" and fellowshiping at our events! Gotta get there early.
This game is usually a sellout! 5,000 to 6,000 at the game!

K'Von Wallace #12 DB at Clemson is doing well too! As is Juwan Carter QB at Norfolk State!

We have a stud at Michigan State too! WR Felton Davis. He is their top receiver. Graduated from HS in 2014

I much prefer Hampton. UVA feels so empty and Hampton was loud and full. So glad they made the move to not play in 80% empty stadium.

sb, as you eluded to, some of my best friends in life started out as football enemies. (Meaning that rhetorically speaking only.)

Springer, any update on Greg today?

He's been up walking around and eating! All good stuff! I heard he is in good spirits.I don't hsve his number, but you all can send him some love or call him. He's at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC
Great news!

Absolutely great news. Thanks Springer.

Terrible and scary injury, but it's not the type of injury that makes him any more likely to have a repeat. Not like an ACL or something of that nature. Just a freak thing that he should heal up from and never have another worry with.
