I've had GW in my top 5 since the beginning of the season. Maybe Preps will give them some love if they hold on and win tonight
I have to and hopefully they will. This isn't a bad GW team we just made mistakes against Radford and they made us pay. A few things go right and we win that game against a top 10 2A team. If you sleep on this team they will make you pay.
Giles fumbled GW got it back and scores a 60 yard TD and it's called back on a complete BS! Holding call. I get it you're at home and don't wanna take this bad of an L but call the game right.

Both teams had several holding calls all night long. You see a hold, you throw a flag. And they did
I'm not showing class because I stated a fact? Because I'm taking up for a very respectful young man who made an incredible block? And the "Girls" was an autocorrect that I didn't notice until now it was definitely meant to say Giles. And I also do believe that my post said "call the game right" that is only and can only refer to the refs not Giles as a team. I've shown nothing but respect twords Giles this season go look at any post where I reference Giles I've said imo they are one of the better teams in 1A ball. And it's not crying to give my opinion that it wasn't holding he simply dominated his man he had done it all night but that was holding on a TD that would've made it 42-7? And GW won and won by the score I predicted they would well I predicted 34-7 we sometimes struggle with extra points. So I wasn't mad that we didn't score more I wasn't mad at Giles I wasn't mad at all lol I simply stated that it was a BS! Call because it was simple as that.
A couple of things.
One -the refs have been horrid so far this year for the most part and we are going to have to get use to it unfortunately with the shortage. The Grayson /Carroll county game last week was funny it was SO bad.
Two - after to watching the Galax / Giles game on NFHS last week I give Giles announcers a lot of credit. Although you can certainly tell that they root and pull for Giles they are very respectful about it and complimentary of the other team when they make a good play. They would also call out bad calls by the refs even if it went in favor of Giles . It was refreshing and kudos to those guys. and yea your right the kids deserve better but at least it didn’t effect the outcome of a game this time.

Guys, the officials are extremely short staffed and it's happened across the country because of fan behavior and low pay. There's lots of new officials/inexperienced officials this year and it's going to take time. Just like a player that grows up and improves, same for officials. They're only human, but we had lots of officials retire and call it quits with the Covid crisis and are bringing in a new generation of officials that don't have the many years of experience. They will improve, but patience is needed men.
